Large Victorian in Downtown Montclair, 5 blocks from Manhattan direct trains and in the heart of Montclair's best downtown. There are awesome shops/50+ restaurants/ bars/ theaters/ concert hall/ a museum all walking distance.
Montclair has become a Brooklyn west, and we are right in the midst of it. Our 3,200+ sq ft. house is spacious with high ceilings, classic Victorian with updates, and well maintained. It's quiet inside and tranquil out with wrap around mahogany front porch and garden patio in back. Perfect place, central to all for your stay.
All the trimmings of classic old world construction with updates and amenities blending classic with modern. 6 Large bedrooms, 3.5 full baths with one full on first floor (which is convenient), great hot water supply, 3 showers at once no issue. Kitchen with eat in bar, fully equipped for cooking. Large dining room high top table with seating for 8.
Relaxing wrap around front porch and great patio in back with garden and yard.
Location, location, location - you are steps from Montclair's best spots and 30 minutes door to door to Manhattan.
The Train station is 10 minute walk, 2 minute ride from our home. Trains leave every hour direct to Manhattan (30 minute journey, Montclair to Penn Station). Door to door from our home to Manhattan in 30-40 minutes.
Buses direct to the city as well - 2 blocks from us.
We have a large suburban house in a city vibe setting. Best of both worlds... come enjoy

Summary: We had an amazing experience staying at this Vrbo property! One of the highlights of our stay was the fantastic location, which was conveniently close to both downtown and the train stations. This made it easy for us to explore the city and take day trips without any hassle. The local dining scene also impressed us. The nearby restaurants served delicious food and offered a great variety of cuisines. It's safe to say that we had a culinary adventure right outside our doorstep! As for the house itself, it was spacious and comfortably accommodated our group of nine. The layout was well thought out, and there was ample space for everyone to relax and unwind. But what truly stole the show was the Lego table! Our four-year-old was absolutely smitten with it and didn't want to leave the house. It kept him entertained for hours on end and added a fun and playful touch to the property. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend this Vrbo home to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in a prime location. We can't wait to come back for our next visit! Summary: The house worked well for our large group of 14. Plenty of rooms to spread out, decent sized spaces for the group. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Onsite parking for 3 cars (maybe 4 if small enough). We were there during very hot weather, and the air conditioning kept things cool. There were plenty of towels, and quite a few toys/games for use by guests.

Summary: We were there for our son's wedding in the area. The house has lots of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms to accommodate a larger group. We all loved the front porch! Stuart (owner) was very responsive.

Summary: It is an old house and is not that well maintained. Owner is helpful but our overall experience was bad. We had booked place for visiting family but due to some leakage in home had to vacate the place in middle of booking.

Summary: Overall, everything was very nice! Stuart is very kind and accommodating. We arrived as the beautiful cherry blossom tree in front was in full bloom, making sitting on the wrap around porch very enjoyable. Only 2 things hindered a perfect score: The neighborhood is a little noisier than expected / also, kitchen was not well supplied with cooking/serving things.

Summary: Stuart was a very attentive host and responded quickly to some questions we had. This is a historic home with a lot of interesting details yet plenty of space and bathrooms for a group of 5 adults and 2 kids (who especially loved the bunk beds). The location to downtown shops and restaurants is fantastic. We had dinner at a great restaurant downtown Montclair with street dining. Would recommend this home for large groups especially with kids.
