Nestled amongst the Carolina pines in the heart of Research Triangle’s horse country is The Estate at Nimich Pond. The Estate is a 4200 square foot, three story, custom home on nearly six acres of prime real estate that can comfortably sleep up to 14 people. Furnished to create an atmosphere of a French Country Horse Farm, you’ll feel the sensation of being transported away from the everyday the very moment you arrive. In addition to the sleeping accommodations, The Estate offers a modern dine in kitchen, a cozy formal dining room, a family room, a bonus room, and a large screened in porch offering breathtaking views of the property.
Relaxation and comfort are the theme at the Estate, so whether you have chosen to get away with the family or with a group a friends, the amenities at the Estate were designed with you in mind. Sit out on the porch or patio and take in the beauty of nature surrounded by tall pine and birch trees and a veritable aviary of wild birds that soar above Nimich Pond. Or get up close and personal with the pond on our dock, while enjoying the tranquil sound of splashing water emitting from the in pond fountain. Looking for a little more? How about a cool dip in the new inground private salt water swimming pool, or explore the various planting beds, or the walking trails, or get your short game in order on our personal putting green or spend time with the young ones on the jungle gym swing set.
Even though you will feel as though you are far away from everything, in reality you are merely a stone’s throw from everything. Downtown Raleigh and Downtown Durham are both just twenty five minutes away; so whether you are visiting to attend a Wolfpack or Blue Devil game, or see a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), the Estate places you right in the middle of these and other central Carolina event venues. Within fifteen minutes are three of the area’s renown golf courses; Falls Village, The Crossings, and Wildwood Green as well as a host of equestrian facilities suitable to the beginner or the experienced rider. In addition to these options, we can arrange for onsite fitness classes, or schedule a private wine tasting hosted by Vino & Vine.

Security Camera Disclosure
For the safety and security of our property, we have four (4) exterior security cameras installed. These cameras are located in public outdoor areas and are used to monitor the property only when the home is unoccupied. Cameras are not actively monitored during guest stays and do not record any interior or private guest areas.
Camera 1 is mounted on the barn and faces the front of the residence, monitoring the main entrance.
Camera 2 is located above the back balcony and overlooks the backyard, including the pool, pond, putting green, fountain, and dock. It helps us assess property condition after storms and monitor the functionality of the fountain when the property is unoccupied.
Camera 3 is positioned above the garage door and faces the front and side of the property, including the tree line.
Camera 4 is on the side of the barn and monitors the driveway for any unauthorized access when the property is vacant.
These devices are in place for security purposes only and are never used to monitor guests during their stay.

Summary: We gathered to celebrate our patriarch’s 70th birthday, and although we couldn’t make it to the mountains as planned, we stumbled upon a gem of a home that exceeded our expectations! Our son found this property, and we’re so grateful he did. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel welcomed with a delightful "welcome basket" filled with snacks that the kids immediately dove into, and two bottles of wine for the adults that were equally appreciated. The hosts were incredibly responsive to our questions, and you could truly sense their love for the property through its beautiful upkeep and charming decor. The house was perfect for our needs, comfortably accommodating 11 of us across several cozy bedrooms. The Paddock and barn provided endless entertainment for the cousins, who enjoyed practicing their volleyball skills, competing in sack races, and engaging in friendly rivalry with air hockey, foosball, and basketball. We even organized a putting contest on the greens, which added to the fun! One of the highlights was the heated pool, which the kids loved even in October. It felt like we were a hundred miles away in a serene mountain retreat, yet we were conveniently located just 1.3 miles from a grocery store, making everything easy and accessible. I wholeheartedly recommend this home for a family reunion. It has everything you need for a memorable gathering, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. We can’t wait to return!

Summary: This property was incredible. The pool was lovely and the towel caddy was a nice touch. All of the outdoor seating, including the pond-side deck was great and the numerous beds were much appreciated for everyone. And the putting green out back and all of the games in the barn were a fantastic finishing touch. Would definitely return on our next trip to Raleigh! Thank you to Maurice and Melissa for making our stay wonderful!

Summary: The owners went above and beyond to make this a "home away from home." We were able to spend quality time with our adult children and grandchildren. The owners thought of everything! The pool was amazing! There were lots of games and activities as well. Will definitely book again. Memories were made!

Summary: My family and I (11 total- 6 adults and 5 children) just spent a week at Melissa and Maurice’s property from 7/13 until 7/19. The check in process was seamless. The home is immaculate and spacious, Melissa and Maurice really care for it and ensure you have an enjoyable stay. They are the best hosts I’ve ever encountered through rental stays! The grounds are gorgeous and the property is private even though there are neighboring properties. When we weren’t exploring Raleigh’s museums we filled our time swimming in the pool, relaxing poolside and fishing from the dock. We made so many family memories through the week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone searching for a rental property and would come back! Thank you so much to Melissa and Maurice for your hospitality!

Summary: I don't know where to start! The house is amazing with many spacious and comfortable rooms to fit all of my family comfortably as well as a fabolous enclosed patio and we loved every bit of the place. The pool was definitely a plus for keeping us nice and cool during the hot summer days and the barnhouse is filled with many games and entertainment for all of my family to enjoy! To top it off, Melissa & Maurice were outstanding hosts, willing and able to assist us if ever needed and did everything in their power to provide a lovely stay for us. Most definitely would stay here again without a doubt!
