3 Bedroom Cottage in Campos

In the south of Mallorca, between the towns of Campos and Santanyi is our Finca Gallicant. A beautiful stone house surrounded by a plot of 20 hectares and 1 kilometer from the road which ensures tranquility and relaxation.
Olive trees, pines and bushes of garrigue fill the broad terrain. A very large terrace with barbecue, the pool area surrounded by lawn and sun loungers will make your holidays unforgettable and exclusive.
About 10 minutes by car you can enjoy one of the best beaches in Mallorca; It is Trenc as well as the Mondragó Natural Park. The capital Palma is only 30 minutes away.
The town of Santanyi, with market every Saturday and the tourist town of Cala D'Or are 12 minutes away by car.
Gallicant is a charming rural house. It consists of 3 double bedrooms, two of them with bathroom en suite. 2 Bedrooms with king size bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a third separate and complete bathroom.
The living room has a double sofa bed, satellite TV and DVD player, fireplace.
The terrace with pergola leads to the dining room, both are furnished for 6-7 people
The kitchen with breakfast bar is fully equipped.
Free pool table
Change over day from June to September only on Saturdays. Before you book in other months ask about if we are flexible.
Heating in winter is not included in the quote 40 Euros per day. -Every 7 nights is included in the price 1 cleaning and change of linens and towels
Tourist Tax (ecotasa) not included 2 Euros per day per guest up to 16 years old

Summary: Initially we were a little worried following the gravel/dirt road to the finca, however we shouldn't have been worried. The finca is set within its own grounds with the nearest neighbour some distance away and never going to disturb you. There is a large deep swimming pool with grass surrounds and a sunbed area. It is a deep pool and even the shallow end is quite deep, so any kids need to be able to swim. Not for toddlers. Lots of birds flitting about the area and some great sunsets over the pool. The finca is well appointed with a large terrace. The bedrooms are all a good size and bathrooms similarly good. There is no air con, but couple of large fans. After a couple of nights we got used to the temperature, it was fine. The finca is only a 5-7 seven minute drive to Santanyi and Campos and 20-30 minutes from some great beaches. The airport takes 45 mins max. Doing the cash with Pepe seemed a bit odd when we booked but it was fine. He is a lovely man and his English is a lot better than he thinks. Don't let this bit put you off. I would recommend the finca and this part of Mallorca. Plenty to do, nice temperatures, nice people. Overall one of our best hols.

Summary: Very nice quiet location good size pool. We and the family enjoyed our time there very much and would return and would recommend staying at this Finca but the following I believe needs attention. Thank you Pepe for your kindness Kind regards to Pepe Not complaints but observations Should have blankets for cooler nights Should have pool towels not just bathroom towels Should have extra light above terrace eating area for evening dinning Should advise repellent candles and or supply them Should for late arrival time supply of water Should supply kettle Needs better rubbish disposal facilities on site Shame that we could not use the pool table as ball and cues where locked away but do understand young children should not be allowed unattended to use the pool table Lights in trees did not work around pool garden area could not get jacuzzi in pool to work General garden and pool lights come a little to late in the evening Full cost ie tax 495.00 euros not advised until after arrival on top of all other costs of stay Finca Check out times need to be a little more flexible for later flights returning from there holiday and should not be different as we where told when we asked if it was possible to remain in the Finca due to our late flight out.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in this house which is much more spacious than it looks in the pictures and spotlessly clean with homely touches which make it a very relaxing place to be. The house is set in a huge area of land which is very quiet except for the lovely Hoopoe birds, cicadas and crickets. There were very few mosquitoes which was a real bonus. The pool is the best pool I've ever had in a villa, incredibly clean and very large. The house was well equipped (though a welcome pack of a few essential food items would have made it even more wonderful). The beds were comfortable and the house stayed quite cool even on the hottest days. We spent most of our time lazing on the veranda or in the pool. Supermarkets are an easy 10 to 15 minute drive away. We had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful place to relax. Be aware when booking that payment for the villa (after the deposit) is in cash to the owner on arrival. There is also a 200 Euro cleaning fee which is not included in the quote for the villa through Homeaway. This is communicated by the owner prior to booking and the cost and hassle of getting the cash was worth the effort for the lovely house.

Summary: We had an amazing holiday. The villa and its beautiful veranda, gorgeous pool and gardens made it almost impossible to leave! Pepe the owner was so helpful and kind a lovely man. All information was correct. Such a relaxing place. And the pool table gave us many hours of entertainment.
