Summary: Perfect place--quiet, cozy--for us for 2 weeks to rest and refresh after daily hikes in and around Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Comfort, safety, and peaceful, woodland surroundings near the water: just perfect.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed this cabin! It is on the edge of Pleasant Bay, NS, just a short distance from Cape Breton Park. Whale boats leave from the Pleasant Bay harbor. If you are looking for a fancy cabin with no rough edges, this is not for you. BUT, if you are looking for a very comfortable convenient cabin, it is awesome! Owner is still working out some of the rough edges but he is very responsive to guests. Pictures don't make it obvious, but it has a galley kitchen, separate bedroom, oblong living/dining area and bathroom. Great small deck with Adirondacks and a new grill. Very comfortable! Fully stocked with living needs! It is very close to the road(Cabot Trail) but the deck is on the back of the house and you really don't notice the road when inside. The road goes quiet at night. The cabin is on a property that also has another larger rental building. The buildings are close, but the way they are turned (end-to-end), you only notice this coming into the cabin. The living areas/deck are private. This small negatives don't come close to outweighing the great experience. I just mention them to be completely accurate. You can't beat the location. It is close to the NE corner of the Cabot Trail, which is the most scenic part of the trail. Easy 30-45 minute drive to Cheticamp on the west side of the Cabot Trail. Easy access to hiking trails along the northern edge of the Park. Highly recommend this place for a quiet getaway and awesome access to the area.
