Situated in an idyllic location, The Retreat is a luxury, 5 bedroomed villa set in its own olive grove, overlooking the stunning La Maroma mountain. Only 45 minutes from Costa del Sol's Malaga Airport and an hour from Granada airport. The villa has been furnished to the highest of standards and incorporates every modern convenience yet retains a typical Spanish style. Large private pool and terrace area provide the ideal location to relax. Tavernas and small local shops are nearby together with a myriad of tiny mountain villages to explore. 20 Minutes drive takes you to the Coast, a major shopping complex and all the entertainment facilities of the seaside resort of Torre del Mar. Further afield, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Gibraltar are all within travelling distance. So, for location, The Retreat is simply perfect - nestling quietly in the mountains, with small shops and restaurants nearby, yet only 25 minutes from the bustle of the coastal resorts.
Activities/Sports/Shopping: Beaches] - There are a number of excellent beaches within easy reach. The nearest beach is at Torre Del Mar - a long wide beach with activities and facilities. There are a number of excellent beaches at Nerja including a naturist beach. [Waterparks/Themeparks] There is a water park 20 minutes away at Torre Del Mar and there are further waterparks and themeparks near Malaga. [Watersports] - Sailing, Jet skiing, Water skiing & Windsurfing are all available at many nearby places. [Shopping] - There is a large shopping centre at Torre del Mar and the town has many good shops. There are also many excellent smaller shops at Nerja. [Walking] - Easy or challenging, spectacular scenery. [Horse Riding, Fishing] - Available nearby. [Skiing & Snowboarding!] - About 1.5 hours away, near Granada is the major ski resort of Sierra Nevada. [Bowling and Cinema] - 20 minutes away in Torre del Mar.

Summary: Nice villa. The only small drawback is that not all rooms have air conditioners.

Summary: A beautiful house, in a stunning location. Definitely need a car. The house accommodated 11 people well, with plenty of space. The pool was fantastic, but deep. Alan and his wife next door were very friendly and accommodating. Great communication with owner prior to arrival.

Summary: The house is situated in a glorious location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house fitted 8 of us really well. We mixed dining at home using the bbq and the oven for pizza etc as It was easy to get to local shops by car and the occasional trip to EROSKI supermarket fitted in with a visit to the Water Park etc. The pool was a great size and everyone was able to enjoy it. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. Extending full air conditioning to all bedrooms would be an advantage as the mobile units didn’t really cope with August temperatures. Neighbour Alan was most helpful and kept the pool in good order. We would recommend, provided people know you can’t walk to any restaurants as the only one previously mentioned was closed throughout our visit.

Summary: This villa was in a beautiful location in the mountains. We stayed as a family of 7 and it was very spacious and clean throughout. The neighbour Alan was extremely helpful and made our experience much more enjoyable. A thing to note is that a car is needed, although we already knew this. Many thanks to Bev for this great villa, we really felt comfortable staying here for a week 😊

Summary: Great place to stay with amazing views. The best part of the house is the pool, it’s great. The house is very spacious and well organized with a large kitchen. It’s an ideal place to relax some days with friends or family.

Summary: Bev and Alan are lovely, helpful and very close host. We surprised a lot when we saw the Bev's huge house. It's warm and very confortable and it has all you need to have some days of relax with frinds or family. We enjoyed so much. It might be we book again in summer if everything goes well. Summary: Stayed 2 weeks everything as described, Villa had everything you needed. Location was in the hills with fantastic views. 20 drive mins if you want a beach. There was a large lounge area which was cool in the hot weather, bedrooms were large, plenty of room to pull out beds in twin rooms. Few mins drive from village with shops where you could get everything needed. You do need a car, but we knew this. Hopefully we will return. You are isolated but we had great family time, pool was fantastic. The neighbours Alan and Marilyn were very helpful with local info and with something we left behind. Thanks for everything, and take everything in your stride.
