Summary: The gîte Belle Etoile is lovely, it is very private and peaceful. The kitchen is very well equipped, nice bed good bathroom. And very tasteful design of the property. The town of Gennes is small and quiet. You can take walks, have wine tastings and visit castles in the nearby vicinity. Petra and her daughter were very friendly!

Summary: Petra has created a quiet relaxing oasis in her rental property in Gennes. It was perfect for the 3 of us to investigate the region. The village has lots to offer too. The house is quiet, very clean and comfortable. Thank you Petra!

Summary: Lovely old house restored and altered to high standard. Very comfortable week in lovely weather. Kitchen very well equipped with everything we needed and a nice upstairs lounge Garden is excellent and is ideal for relaxing after a strenuous day out in the heat The village is very pleasant with shops and a supermarket Petra is very pleasant to deal with and very helpful All made for a very enjoyable holiday

Summary: Despite the rain we had on and off for most of the week, we enjoyed our stay at gite belle etoile. The pretty front garden was a nice place to relax when the weather allowed. It was a good base to visit the area between Chinon and Angers.

Summary: Good clean property with everything you need. Upside down living is a bit confusing at first but the view from the sitting room is worth it. Garden is sheltered and the shops are a five minute walk away. Six footers need to watch their head in one place and even though Petra pointed this out I still managed to bump mine a couple of times or was that the wine??????

Summary: Great garden, decking, living room with a view (and a breeze which was handy in the mud 30s). Very good location near baker, butcher etc, whilst being very quiet

Summary: In the small town of Gennes is this nicely appointed house conveniently located between Angers and the quaint town of Saumur. Petra Schewe speaks English beautifully as well as French and her native German but beyond that it was her hospitality that was over the top and impressed us the most. We were on business attending several wine shows in the area and not only did Petra give us some helpful tips she booked us for a tasting and dinner at a beautiful, old Cathedral in Angers - for free! How can you beat that? Petra was incredibly kind and super cool. She was awesome and the house served us beautifully. Thanks Petra. Hope to see you again.

Summary: Our family of five spent a relaxing 4 days in Belle Etoile. The house is charming and very well appointed, and isn't lacking for any convenience. The garden was great for our young boys who played soccer most evenings. The town is quiet, but there are a few small markets, boulangers, and boucheries nearby. I would offer one caution to parents of young children in that there are multiple levels to the house separated by small sets of stairs. That being said, the multiple levels do contribute to the charm.
