Set in a walled garden, with a gated driveway parking 3 cars, Villa Acqua, enjoys one of the best locations on this exclusive resort. The stunning Sao Rafael beach is a short walk away, as well as the sheltered cove, Arrifes beach .
A large shaded terrace with sea views, equipped with tables and chairs, a barbecue, private pool and lush lawns and garden is ideal for alfresco entertaining. The spacious living room opens onto the terrace through large double glazed glass patio doors. It incorporates an open fireplace, easy chairs, sofa and satellite smart TV and an adjoining open plan, more formal dining area. The fully-equipped kitchen has ample storage, as well as a utility room, with washing machine and an outdoor drying area. A hallway leads to one double en suite bedroom and two twin bedrooms, main bathroom facilities, and to a staircase up to the self-contained double en suite bedroom. This has a large private sun terrace with superb sea view. The living room and bedrooms all have air conditioning. The Villa is ideal to relax and enjoy the sun in a comfortable, tranquil environment with free WiFi, super fast internet, yet also have access to excellent leisure facilities.
Local Amenities: A small supermarket with bakery is ten minutes walk away, and the wonderful beach restaurants of Sao Rafael and Sardinha are just five minutes walk away. Within walking distance are many other restaurant options. Tennis courts are available to book nearby. Within a few minutes drive is Apolónia, one of the best supermarkets in the country. Algarve Shopping, a large mall, is a 15 min. drive away, open until late, with many shops, restaurants, bowling, and eight cinemas. The new Albufeira Marina is only a few minutes drive or 15 min walk, with many restaurants, shops, a gym, and offering boat trips, fishing and many other excursions.
Leisure Activities: Sao Rafael is a very well located central point on the coast of Algarve. From here it is easy to go to a wide variety of beaches and to visit many typical towns both to the East and West of this region. In Albufeira there are a wide choice of restaurants, coffee shops and bars, small cobblestone streets plenty of shops and street stalls. Many of the Algarve’s local attractions are within easy reach, including Zoomarine, Aqualand, Slide&Splash and other attractions for children and adults alike. The small town of Guia famous for its piri-piri chicken is close by, the medieval town of Silves, Monchique in the mountains, the Vilamoura Marina are less than half an hour away. Further East, Tavira, Faro, Olhão and its famous fish market, the Ria Formosa Natural Park, gateway to the beautiful beach islands are all less than an hour's drive away. Exploring further West with its more dramatic coastline is roughly an 1h30 drive away.
Weather: Although the winter months see some rain, there is sunshine all year round in Sao Rafael, with warm weather starting as early as March. Come Easter time there are people on the beach albeit with a colder sea. And from April the beach restaurants are fully operational every day and the summer warmth begins with the beach’s clear, tranquil, turquoise waters. Both May and June are gloriously peaceful months to enjoy Sao Rafael as they are calmer less busy months. July, August and September are lively, with summer in full swing. And in October the calm returns with often, still great weather.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay last week. 2 adults + 4 kids (3 teens and one 9yr old). The villa is bright and spacious, with a large living room space opening to the rear terraces via surrounding floor to ceiling french doors. 3 good sized bedrooms (1 en suite and 2 share a bathroom) on the main floor and a master suite upstairs with private terrace. everyone loved having their own space. The huge outdoor dining table was amazing and easily sits 12 people. It is covered and has vines draped around the end, keeping it wonderfully cool to relax in during the hotter days. The pool is great! Large enough for several people to hang out in. location wise - you can walk to the small beach in 5 mns, with Sardinha restaurant. Be sure to book for an evening table. The bigger beach of Sao Rafael in great, and is only a 7-8 min walk away. The villa provides some beach umbrellas and beach towels, so you are all set. They also had paddle 'n ball sets as well as a volleyball, so we had lots of things for beach games. You can walk from the villa to some small local stores too. Our kids walked up the road and got ice creams in the afternoon, which they loved. For big shops the Apalonia grocery store is only a 7 min drive but you can also go to Aldi (also only 8 mins) for cheaper prices. Beer and wine is SO cheap, so stock up! Albufeira and the Marina are short Uber rides away (costing only about $10 Euros each way). Ines was an INCREDIBLE HOST. So responsive and helpful.

Summary: The villa is very spacious and clean with a beautiful roof terrace off the master bedroom. A good size pool and garden. It is a short walk to the minimart and beaches and an easy drive to supermarkets and attractions. The owner provides a detailed map of nearby restaurants and attractions. Recommendations are spot on.

Summary: This beautifully appointed villa was exactly as described in the listing. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious for our family of five adults. The area was quiet as the house is in an residential area. The garden and pool area provided a lovely and peaceful area to relax. The kitchen was well stocked with items (pots, pans, cooking utensils, mixer, blender/chopper, dishes and glasses) needed to cook a meal for 8 people. Ines the host, was friendly, approachable and responded to our questions promptly. We wanted to private chef come to the villa to cook a meal to celebrate and anniversary. Ines made some suggestions and we used Filipe Silva, Private Chef in the Algarve. Filipe came to the villa, did the shopping, prepared and served a 4 course meal which was flavourful and beautifully presented. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. The villa is within easy walking distance of two beaches and there are beautiful trails to walk on the top of the cliffs. There are several good restaurants within walking distance and a small convenience store just down the street. We had a great stay in this house and enjoyed the area!

Summary: Lovely villa within walking distance of 2 lovely beaches. Fantastic beach restaurant at the bottom of the road which we visited twice in our week’s stay, great fish and sangria. Very spacious accommodation, top floor suite was also lovely. Instructions and facilities all great. Highly recommend.

Summary: We enjoyed spending time at this spacious villa with a lovely pool and garden. We walked to the marina twice for a boat tour and jet skiing, and we walked to several restaurants. The pictures and description are accurate and we highly recommend it.

Summary: Superb property. Location can be ideal depending on what you are looking for. Adults will definitely enjoy the peace and quiet, the house itself and proximity to beaches. The younger adults will find the distance from the town a slight disadvantage as it means taxis to and fro. A car is essential for groceries and to access a broader range of good restaurants.

Summary: Had a fantastic week with family and friends. The villa is lovely, just like the pictures. It very quickly felt like a home from home. Gardens beautifully kept and the pool is a great size and very clean. Ines was a brilliant host, very helpful and friendly and always responding to messages and questions quickly. Beds were comfy and each room has air conditioning. The kitchen is well equipped and a lovely bbq outside. The villa is in a very pretty neighbourhood. Just up the road is a mini market/bakery and there is a beautiful cove beach 5 mins away which became a firm favourite place to go for us. Safe for the children to swim (there are also lifeguards) and a nice restaurant /bar on the beach. The old town is a short Uber drive away as is the marina. We would not hesitate to go back. Thank you for a lovely base for our holiday 😊

Summary: From start to finish I couldn’t be more positive about the villa, the location, our experience and the hosts. The villa is beautiful, a lovely outlook, beautiful gardens and out side pool, the inside is immaculate with everything you need, a wonderful and helpful outside drying space too. The villa is easy walking distance to two lovely beaches, and Maria & Ines recommended the restaurant Sardinha which did not disappoint. There is a very short walk to local super market and a 5min taxi to the main one in albuferia so location wise perfect. - I would recommend this villa for families or a get away for adults, we will definitely be returning xx
