Westholme at Sugar Hill, is the most charming 3 bedroom villa, a perfect holiday vacation house. It is located in the parish of St James on the popular and much sought after west coast of Barbados. The Sugar Hill Resort is one of the island’s finest residential developments in Barbados, beautifully maintained, with well tended gardens and landscaping. There is 24/7 security, and a very helpful team at the reception desk of the club house. The development is safe and secure and the epitome of elegant colonial style. Within Sugar Hill you will find four floodlit tennis courts (coaching is available by arrangement), a fitness centre, restaurant and the club house. There are two fantastic pools, one with a breathtaking infinity edge overlooking the west coast and another, free-form pool, with waterfalls and a children’s shallow paddling area.
Guests at Westholme also benefit from complimentary membership of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Beach Club, where you can enjoy complimentary sunbeds,
unberellas and 10% off at the beach club bar.
Westholme has three bedrooms, all en-suite. Two bedrooms are in the main house and the third bedroom is in a self contained cottage just a few steps away. All bedrooms have air conditioning as well as ceiling fans. The bed linen and towels are all included and of excellent quality. From the main house bedrooms there are private and secluded paths to the plunge pool and gardens
The villa is beautifully decorated and the furniture and furnishings have been chosen with care. There is everything you need for a relaxing Barbados holiday.
The kitchen is fully fitted and well stocked with equipment. It has granite worktops, cooker, fridge freezer, and plenty of tableware, pots and pans and utensils, all you need for your home cooking and dining.
The comfortable living area has plenty of seating and a TV. The large balcony is a favourite place to relax at all times of the day and night. Fabulous sea views can be enjoyed in each direction and the sunsets are magnificent.
The property has wi-fi internet access so you can keep in touch while you are away. There is cable TV and a telephone – local calls are free.
The garden outside is magical, lovingly tended with a wonderful array of tropical flowers and trees. By day it’s a treat and when lit up at night it’s even more so. The secluded private pool is just perfect for a cooling dip in this lush Caribbean haven.
If booking for up to 4 people this will only include the main house. However if you are looking at bookings for more than 4 people the cottage will be included.
I have a housekeeper who comes in once a week to look after my guests.

Westholme is so comfortable and welcoming that you may not be able to tear yourself away! If you feel able, there is much that Barbados has to offer. You are just a five minute easy drive from Holetown, where you’ll find a host of restaurants from world class fine dining to tasty street food. There are supermarkets, banks, 24/7 medical centre, duty free outlets, even a cinema. If you need some retail therapy, there are ample opportunities for shopping and duty free purchases.

Summary: The location, facilities, staff at Sugar Hill - everything - was superb. The accommodation itself was perfect - clean, spacious and more amenities than you can dream of. The owner of the property was also extremely responsive and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this to anyone thinking of visiting Barbados.

Summary: This home exceeded our expectations, photos does not do it justice. We had a fantastic time and the villa and grounds offer everything and more you could want on a holiday. It was the experience of a resort whilst having a private home. We will definitely be back. House manager and estate staff were also fantastic to deal with. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Summary: We were an extended family - grandparents, parents and two young grandkids. The living room upstairs has a beautiful view of the sea in the distance and a lovely large balcony where we ate our breakfsts and enjoyed sundowns.There's no air con upstairs and there were times when it would have been welcome as it was too hot and the birds kept coming into the house through the doors and slatted windows. We stayed in the little cottage. This was nice but felt 'second rate' - dirty patio, curtains stuck, drawers already full, no bedside mats, paucity of hooks ect. The shower didn't work properly - barely a trickle of water - this was finally fixed on day 8 of our 10-day stay. Lots of mosquitoes. The owners should consider adding wire mesh to the slatted windows to the whole property to keep the birds and mosquitoes out while still allowing for airflow. No complimentary shampoo/conditioner provided which would have been appreciated. Marcia was mostly responsive to my requests but she did not reply to my query about check out time (2 days in advance) so we planned our departure according to the VRBO instructions of 12.00 noon check out. However, the cleaners turned up at 10.30 and were expecting us out at 11.00am.This caused an (avoidable) stressful last-minute scramble on our departure day. The location of Westholme is superb. The two pools are beautiful and the Deck restaurant is lovely.We had a fabulous time at Westholme overall and would like to return to this lovely home.

Summary: This was or seventh trip to Barbados and we all agree it was the best. The house and location were exactly what we were looking for and we would definitely stay again (and hopefully will). We hired a car which made everything very convenient, Holetown and beaches just 5 minutes away and the house offered a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring the island too, everyone had their own space with pretty, mature and lush gardens and we loved it. We didn’t want or need anything, the house has is well equipped. We visited at a quiet time of year so it felt like we had the entire estate to ourselves. Stunning pools too. For us it was perfect!

Summary: Rosie and Marcia were so wonderful and made us feel right at home, they were there to answer any questions we had and made many wonderful suggestions for dinner! The beach club was a real bonus as it is difficult to park at the beaches and there was plenty of parking and beach chairs at the beach club, not to mention the wonderful lunches we had there! I highly recommend this villa and look forward to returning!

Summary: Firstly we absolutely loved Sugar Hill it is a beautifully maintained resort with mature well tended gardens with The Deck at the heart of this community. We had always stayed right on the coast but enjoyed the peaceful vibe of the resort. Westholme is a beautiful property only a 2 min walk to the deck. It is set over 2 floors the bedrooms on the lower floor overlooking the garden and plunge pool. The living area on the 2nd floor to enjoy sea views in the distance. It is extremely well stocked with plenty of towels, and we were even given a welcome pack so we’re fine until we got our delivery. Rosie and Marcia were outstanding with their communication and were there when we needed them following a burst water main on the resort. The only fly in the ointment for us was the sorry state of the furniture on the balcony but have been assured that this is being replaced next month so all good. We didn’t hire a car but will definitely on our next visit as it helps with trips to the supermarket etc. having only stayed in hotels before it wasn’t really on our radar. But reception at the Deck will always call a taxi for you and we never waited too long. Rosie and Marcia were outstanding with their communication and would highly recommend. In fact we are already planning our next visit to Westholme later this year. Thank you Rosie and we look forward to our next visit. Lisa and Michael

Summary: Had a great time at Westholme. The property is the perfect layout for two couples. Really enjoyed using the two lovely pools at Sugar Hill and The Deck restaurant was brilliant. Great for watching the sunset and plunge pool was great to cool down. The grounds are immaculate. I would say car hire is a must unless you are happy to get taxis everywhere, which in our opinion were expensive e.g. US$30 to Speightstown. Enjoyed lots of trips exploring this beautiful island including Huntes Gardens, Silver Moon catamaran, Mount Gay distillery tour and cocktail making, St Nicholas Abbey, Bathsheba. Also lovely meals at QP Bistro, Lonestar, Paul Owens, Fish Pot - enjoyed them all. Great communication with the owners, would love to return.
