Covid-19 update: as the World struggles with the pandemic unfortunately the Cape Verde islands have not escaped unscathed, however, things are starting to return to normal here as well as Worldwide. The country was placed into lockdown with all ports and airports closed to contain the virus. The lockdown has now been lifted but some restaurants are open reduced hours still and social distancing is encouraged. The wearing of face masks in public places is recommended. The economy in Cape Verde is heavily reliant on tourism and so I do hope you will choose to holiday there, but your safety and well-being remain our primary concern and so we have relaxed our cancellation policy, perform a deep clean between each guest stay, and limit unnecessary exposure by you being met from the airport pick up by Lizy or Stuart who will take you to the apartment and give you the keys, there will be no need to visit reception to collect or return keys, when you leave you will simply leave the apartment keys, safe keys and pool passes on the dining table in the apartment ready for sterilisation for the next guests.

Summary: The appartment is nearby to reception and shuttle buses. It was clean and fully equipped.To reach the sea it takes a walk of 10 min. trough the whole resort or go by shuttle (only a few times a day) to a beach called Ponta Preta. Good place for kitesurfer, but for me it was not as great as other places for swimming and snorkeling.

Summary: Jeanettes apartment has everything you need, a home away from home. Located a short distance from the main town of Santa Maria - shuttle bus, taxis or a 15-20 minute walk. Great for a quiet stay away from the main hustle and bustle. Any issues are dealt with and responded to quickly from both Jeanette and Stuart and Lizy all very informative.

Summary: This was a lovely apartment, we really enjoyed our stay here, shame there was only the one restaurant open which wasn’t brilliant, but the shuttle bus and Taxi service to Santa Maria was really good. The internet at the resort was down for about 5 days which was a pain and the swimming pool at our block was out of action which meant we had to go across to the other area for the pool bar and occasionally this was really busy with no free sun beads. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay here and thank you to Lizzie who was really helpful.

Summary: This was a great place to stay. Perfect location to everything we needed and wanted. Lizy Stuart were the best...not a problem on solved. You want the beach you got it at Ponta Preta about a 15 minute walk. Santa Maria is also a15 minute walk. Internet at Cactus Bar. Great place!!!!

Summary: Another great holiday at Jeanette's apartment. The airport transfer went really smoothly and the apartment was once again spotlessly clean when we arrived. The welcome pack is such a huge bonus when you get there and was very much appreciated. The apartment has everything you could possibly need. This year we were able to take advantage of the fly screen it the bedroom. Neither of us like air con so at night when it was hot we were able to close the shutters and leave the window open with the fly screen down so we weren't bothered by any mozzies. The sofa on the balcony is also a great addition. We used the pool area practically everyday which is kept very clean and they are constantly cleaning the pool itself. There is a free bus into Santa Maria but we didn't use it this year as we enjoyed the walk into Santa Maria in the evenings and then got a taxi back. This is the second time at Jeanette's apartment and we have no doubt at all in our minds that should we go back to Sal in the future it will be Jeanette's apartment we will be looking to book.

Summary: We stayed three weeks in Jeanette's spacious and ideally located apartment. The communications with her prior, during and after our stay were prompt and accurate. Everything described prior to the booking about the apartment was correct. There is an ample supply of cooking pots/pans, plates, glasses, cooking tools, etc. Also bedding/linen/towel supply was more than sufficient, all in high, good standard. Her local representatives Lizy and Stuart had prepared the apartment, welcome basket and the transportation from the airport as promised. Vila Verde is a very safe and beautiful complex. In Lantana complex, where we stayed, there is a good pool with many sun chairs. If one needs action and/or refreshments during the day, nearby complex Cactus pool bar offers that. Pizzas from the complex bakery were delicious and the sport bar in the Lantana building served tasty cocktails. There is also a small supermarket, which offers daily basic items, in the Calistemon building. The walk to Santa Maria took about 20 minutes (15 on the very windy day). Free shuttle bus runs few times a day there, but appeared to be quite full always. A taxi ride costs 3 euro and there are always taxis stand-by in front of the reception area (Cactus building). There are several small, mostly Chinese operated supermarkets in Santa Maria for the self caterers. The fish lovers will find very reasonable priced fresh fish on every day at the jetty in Santa Maria. There are many restaurants in Santa Maria. Some of the locals offering a good value to the money, some non-locals not.

Summary: This was our second time to Sal and we found the apartment absolutely great! Not only was it brilliant value for money but Jeanette has taken so much time to sort out all the little extra touches... We had a taxi driver waiting for us after getting through the airport and on arrival to Vila Verde we were met by Lizy who took us to the apartment and showed us around and explained the layout of the complex and where amenities were along with how to work the aircon etc. The nicest touch was the fact there was a welcome pack of food when we got there which supplied our breakfasts for the first couple of days! Jeanette had provided us with so much information about the facilities and Santa Maria that you couldn’t go wrong, she’s obviously taken a lot of time to go through anything you could possibly need to know about the island. There are shuttle passes should you need them meaning you can easily get to Ponta Preta and Santa Maria however we preferred to walk there. It was a nice touch that with the shuttle passes you can get free access to sunbeds on Ponta Preta outside Bo Beach Bar. We hope to return to the island next November/December to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and this apartment will be top of our list to stay!!

Summary: The apartment is spacious, airy & well maintained & extremely clean. It's furnished to a high standard & there was a welcome pack on arrival. It had everything we needed - cooking facilities, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, iron & ironing board etc. It's located a short drive from the airport & another short drive, or a 20 minute walk, to Santa Maria the main fishing town on the island. I would highly recommend the apartment & the owner was extremely helpful & approachable.
