4 Bedroom House in Fleurac

The 19th century renovated farmhouse 'Laudinie' is beautifully situated on a hill at the end of a dirt road off a quiet country lane. The house is free-standing, amidst 11 hectares of private land. Those seeking peace will find it here. 'Laudinie' is fully protected from prying eyes - perfect for a private, rejuvenating vacation! The generous sunbathing area surrounding the very large pool (20x45ft, up to 12ft deep) invites you to enjoy undisturbed sunbathing or relax in the shade of large trees. The covered BBQ and lounge space allows for grilling even in (rare) uncertain weather conditions. Enjoy enchanting sunsets from the wide-view terrasse which can be accessed through the romantic courtyard or the living room.
Four bedrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom provide all the comfort necessary to never leave the house if you so desire!
Although privately located, the house is centrally situated amidst innumerable attractions and outdoor activities of the Dordogne. The Dordogne is most famous for its worldclass medieval castles (Chateau Castelnaud / Beynac / Milandes / Marqueyssac), medieval towns (Sarlat / Domme / LaRocGageac / Perigueux) and prehistoric sites (Font de Gaume / Lascaux / RocSt.Christophe). Within 10min of the property you can also indulge in numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing, golfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, water and adventure parks etc.
To discover :
Every day of the week a traditional street market is taking place in another romantic medieval town close by. A great opportunity to taste the regional delicacies - a highlight for all gourmets!
Various large and small wineries invite you to taste their produce. Discover the famous wine regions of Bergerac, Monbazillac, Cahors, and Bordeaux and live 'like God in France'.
The region is known the world over for its wealth in prehistoric caves with up to 17,000 years old polychrome works of art (Lascaux 30min, Font de Gaume 10min, Grotte de Rouffignac 10 min), as well as geologically unique stalactite and stalagmite caves (Grotte Grand Roc 10min, Gouffre de Proumeyssac 20min, Gouffre Padirac 1hour).
The village 'Les Eyzies' (10 min) is home to the National Museum of Prehistory and the international exposure and information center 'Pole International de la Prehistoire'.
The medieval castles of 'Chateau Castlenaud' and 'Chateau Beynac' (conquered by Richard the Lionheart) have played crucial roles in the french/english Hundred Years War in the 14th century. Both provide unforgettable visits and great insights into europe's medieval history through museums and fantastic architecture. The 'Chateau des Milandes' and 'Chateau Marqueyssac' are also great highlights that shouldn't be missed.
A large network of hiking trails lead through the whole region. Along wild creeks, through endless chestnut and oak forests, past impressive rock formations and stunning natural landscapes. The property owner's daughter Michela is a professional tour guide and will gladly provide you with options!
There are also seven golf courses in the region, four 9-hole and three 18-hole.
The Dordogne lets children's hearts beat faster, too. The world of dinosaurs and stone age man is approached in creative and interactive ways (e.g. 'Prehisto Park', 'Roc de Cazelle', or the 'Parc du Bournat'). Europe's largest privately owned freshwater aquarium is only 15 km away ('Aquarium du Perigord Noir').
It also has a go-karting park, mini-golf and a fun park with water slides, pony rides, railway etc ('Jacquou Parc'). In addition, there's horse riding and canoeing a stone's throw away.

Summary: We were at the property for the scorching hot weather. The garden and pool were perfect for keeping cool, sitting under the trees or in the seating area. Kitchen well equipped and outside eating areas all comfortable. Only downside - we would have liked a fan for each bedroom! One had to go without.

Summary: We had a lovely two weeks. The boiler managed to develop a fault while we were there which meant we didn’t have hot water for a day but it couldn’t be helped. The dogs loved their first holiday abroad. A safe and tranquil environment for us and them. The pool was immaculately clean and the pool guy was lovely. Thanks for having us.

Summary: We had a wonderful relaxing 2 weeks in this lovely farm house with the garden. The swimming pool had beautiful water that was a treat to swim in every day. There was plenty to do right on our doorstep so we had a great mixture of seeing the sights and enjoying the lovely pool, garden and terrace the rest of the day. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Summary: Just returned after 3 weeks of total bliss in the most peaceful location. Our party consisted of 2 adults, 4 children (aged 1 to 18 years ) and one dog. The property is perfectly located with caves, castles etc within 30min drive. We tended to go to a local village (le bugue) which is about 15 min drive away and has a good size intermarche but also a leader price, aldi and lidl amongst other shops. The owner, Franziska, put together a folder with contact details of local services and a full list of weekly Markets in the area which was very handy. There was also another folder with lots of leaflets about attractions in the dordogne. Franziska is very helpful and speaks perfect english. Laudinie is a traditional, french, rustic farmhouse at its best. A gate leads to the charming enclosed court yard and the large garden is also fully fenced in with plenty of shaded spots which was perfect for our dog.The kitchen is entered via the courtyard, full of character and equipt with everything you would need. To the right of the kitchen is the big family bathroom and to the left is the lounge with a door leading to the big terrace which has stunning views and steps to the massive swimming pool. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom accessed via the courtyard. The beds are really comfortable and to my wifes delight came with proper duvets and not just your usual "paper sheets". The house has Wifi and a big flat screen TV with french, german and also plenty of english channels including cbbc and cbeebies. Thanks to the perfect layout our teenagers could enjoy the pool, our little one could get a rest from the sun watching the tubbies, playing with the available trainset or Lego, and my wife and I could relax on the terrace keeping an eye on all of them at the same time. It is also worth staying up that little bit longer to enjoy the night sky with its thousands of stars and listening to the owls. If you are looking for a super clean, traditional, beautiful farmhouse in the most peaceful location than Laudinie is the place for you. We will definately be returning.

Summary: We stayed here with a group of 8 friends, and had a great time. The property was clean and very private, with only nature surrounding it. The view is simply amazing, especially when the sun goes down. The house is very much equipped to stay in it: a barbecue, a large and deep swimming pool, a lot of cooking equipment... This is the perfect place to cook an extensive meal and enjoy your French wine! However, Laudinie was also well-situated to visit the many wonderful sights the Dordogne has to offer: castles (Castelnaud, Milandes...), gardens (candlelit Marqueyssac), prehistoric caves & parcs, canoe & kayak, Perigueux - not to mention countless charming small villages with historic streets, good restaurants and food markets. A small downside is the fact that there's only one bathroom and one toilet, and these are both in the same room (which is not always practical with 8 people). Additionally, there's no hallway upstairs, which means that one bedroom is not fully private as people have to walk through it to access their rooms. This is minor though - only small things compared to the beauty and cleanliness of the rest of the house. As for the owner, she was very organised and available for help. She also responded very quickly to enquiries beforehand. In summary, very much recommended!

Summary: Fabulous family fun in jaw dropping location Every year it is a challenge to find a suitable spot for our family holiday. With 3 kids, their grandparents, and our two lovely labs, finding a place where everyones needs are fulfilled and nobody gets bored can be tricky to say the least. Laudinie gave us the space to do just that. The adults had a magnificent time exploring the prehistoric caves and historical sights that are close by, not to mention the amazing local cuisine. If you like wine and cheese your heading to the right place believe me, the food and craft markets in the charming local towns are simply amazing. The kids went wild for the sports on offer in the region. Not a single complaint of boredom (unheard of from my lot) for the whole holiday. In the end though, the house is the real attraction. The jaw dropping views, the friendly old horses, the open fire, the fact that you cant see a trace of civilisation apart from a cow farmer on the opposite side of the valley. All in all, pure magic. Imagine the kids going wild in the pool, my parents relaxing on the balcony or in the garden with a glass of wine and their books, and my wife and I floating between them and the kitchen (or more often the outside barbeque). It was a truly blissful time. I can not recommend it more highly.

Summary: my wife and i have just spent two marvellous weeks in june in this charming french villa and have had all our expectations topped. the descriptions regarding the location and layout of the house were correct although the true feel of this getaway refuge can only be experienced live. we felt fully catered for by the extensive comfort that is provided, particularly by the luxurious bathroom and bedrooms. we enjoyed many hour long dinners packed with french delicatessen on either the terrasse, back garden covered barbecue area, or alternatively in the inner courtyard. through long walks and excursions by car we successfully explored the region and felt just as inspired by the many riches of the Perigord Noir as we did by the house. seeing as we were looking to spend a relaxing and rejuvenating time away and experience the rustical french countryside, i can only recommend this place of inspiration to anyone who searches the same as we did. we returned home feeling full of energy. thank you to the owners - we shall return
