'La Maison de la Souris' is a beautiful, detached and private stone-built French farmhouse recently converted and equipped to a very high standard to provide exceptional holiday accommodation in the Haute Vienne, part of the Limousin region. The addition of a nine metre in-ground pool and hot tub help make this property the perfect location for your holiday in France. The property, which stands in 2.8 hectares of land, has four large bedrooms (three doubles, one twin and including the signature bedroom... a vaulted 9m room with a walk in wet room with free standing bath), a spacious family bathroom, a double height lounge equipped with Digital TV, Sky+ HD satellite, DVD player, free WiFi internet access and even an HP Printer for the day when you've forgotten to print your Ryanair boarding card. A wood burning stove will keep you warm and toasty when the evenings begin to cool. Then there is a kitchen to die for... 9m long, beautiful oak flooring, a three-oven Range master duel fuel cooker, a large fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer along with every other convenience you would expect. Outside, the property overlooks a beautiful new 9x4m pool, an accompanying seven seat hot tub, outdoor dining furniture and loungers and a large gas BBQ. There are even hi-fi speakers so you can provide your own soundtrack to your time by the pool. The summer weather in this part of France has more in common with the south of France and with temperatures regularly over 30 degrees a pool should be high on your list of 'must haves'. Situated in a peaceful hamlet with views of rolling countryside, the property is 3km from the nearest village which is served by a restaurant, boulangerie and village store. Chalus is the closest town, being 5km to the west and providing a large supermarket, restaurants, butchers, bakers and other shops as well as two ATMs. Being in French lake-land, there are also several freshwater lakes in the area. Most have man-made sandy beaches and other leisure facilities and are very popular. Whether your interest is in walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding... or you just like the idea of relaxing and doing as little as possible in a beautiful part of the world then 'The Mouse House' is the ideal venue to make your holiday special.

Summary: First time abroad for our two families who came together on holiday here and we loved this place. There was lots for the children to do. We managed to explore the area a little including Chรขlus and the Perigord-Limousin National park but we were also really happy to hang out by the pool all day too. Property was clean, communication with Andrea and the person who manages it was easy. We didnโ€™t have any issues

Summary: The property is as beautiful as the pictures show - outside space with pool and hot tub is great but the added bonus of the indoor games room for rainy days or cooler evenings is fantastic. Very quiet area so a perfect idyllic escape - we didn't feel the need to venture out much. A few minor maintenance issues but owner responded immediately and their "guy on the ground" was around straight away to sort it; superb communication and friendly host. Highly recommend and hope to return.

Summary: We enjoyed a fabulous week at this villa. Lovely location you feel away for it all but still within a short distance of the supermarket & restaurants. Itโ€™s the best equipped villa weโ€™ve stayed. There was 5 of us staying and it provided everything we could wish for. Weโ€™ll definitely be returning.

Summary: We loved it here, we had 2 families of 4 sharing and there was still plenty of room. With the pool, hot tub and games room you have everything to keep the little ones (and adults) entertained. The added bonus is that it's located in a beautiful part of the world.

Summary: I was looking for a relaxing holiday in the sun and I got it. The house, the surroundings and the peace were perfect. La Maison de la Souris is very well equipped, well thought and beautifully decorated. Having stayed in many gites, they can be sometimes disappointing with the quality of the furniture and kitchen equipment but not in this house. It is obvious that the owners have taken care to make it a home from home. We hardly moved from the house as it had everything we were looking for. The adults were able to relax with good books only interrupted by dips in the pool and my teenage son had fun in the pool but also with the Xbox and pool/air hockey table as well as listening to his music (he never once said he was bored!). I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.

Summary: My family and I stayed at the Mouse House and really didn't want to leave after a week! If you want a relaxed holiday staying in beautiful accommodation with great facilities in a rural location then I can't fault this place. Fabulous!

Summary: We have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing holiday in the most luxurious farmhouse in one of the most beautifully scenic parts of France I have ever visited. All our needs as a family with two children were thoughtfully catered for, from the pool to the hot tub to the air hockey table and even the Xbox - our children were spoilt. The farmhouse was stunning with everything you could ever need to make your stay like a home from home! The surrounding area was a delight with plenty to see and do (check out Espace Hermeline with it's inland beach, velo rail and 20 metre zip wire over the lake just 5 minutes away in Bussiรจre-Galant). I can't recommend 'Le Maison de la Souris' enough and we will definitely be returning again soon. Thank you Andrea for making our holiday so perfect!
