Positive: Perfect comfy place. The staff is super friendly and kind. They are always eager to help with anything. We needed to check out early at 5:30 am and they prepared toasts for us so we could eat on the way :). Thanks for the amazing hospitality!

Positive: Lush tropical well maintained gardens, very caring staff.
Negative: Poor lighting in the room, no bedside table, no headboard, no additional sheet or blanket to cover up during the night. No hand towel. Sink was in the bedroom. No shelf near the sink for toiletries.

Positive: My late grandparents lived in Yogyakarta in the 1950s, and I wanted to get a sense of the kind of house they called home. This homestay is a charming and authentic old Javanese family house. It felt like stepping back in time, giving me a deep connection to my family roots. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are small wooden cottages, each equipped with airconditioning. The shower had warm water. The on-site restaurant serves reasonably priced Indonesian food, with accommodations for allergies. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The night before, staff offers 3 breakfast options, letting you choose your dish and time. The omelet and banana pancake were both excellent. They also offer a laundry service, including both express and standard options at reduced rates.
Negative: The staff could easily fix a couple of issues: the mosquito net had many large holes, letting mosquitoes in, and the room lacked blankets—just a small bedspread that didn’t fully cover the bed. A bigger issue is that the rooms are not soundproof, despite what’s advertised on Booking.com. I could hear other guests talking, laughing, and coughing. Twice during my first night at the homestay, I had to ask noisy guests on the terrace to be quiet, while management did nothing. When I complained, the staff simply said, "They leave tomorrow," as if that solved anything. Furthermore, roosters crowed from 1:00 to 9:00 AM, and Islamic prayer and music from 3:30 to 5:30 AM further disrupted my sleep. At 7:00 AM, Islamic prayer was broadcasted through speakers again, making it impossible to sleep in. If you’re a light sleeper, I cannot recommend this place.

Positive: There are many trees and birds singing in the morning. Place has its own vibes filled with traditional javanese culture and craving for antiquity. Service was exceptional in all terms. Since the hotel is in nature it is good to relax after endless excursions and the city crowds.
Negative: For sure breakfast could be better. Room is clean but bathroom could be cleaned better. Have in mind if you want to eat you need to take a taxi and go 5-10 minutes but for me it is not a big issue.

Positive: Serene atmosphere and nice ambient. Proximity to Alun2 by car or motorbike, and yet very suburban feeling.
Negative: Mosquito however I brought my own mosquito repellant.

Positive: We loved our stay at Bedhot! You get a true feeling of the real Java, and the owner and staff are so friendly! We even got a private taxi to get us where ever we wanted (the Tempels ofcourse) and visited a local house. The food was delicious too.
Negative: You should not expect the highest hygiene but the atmosphere and amazing style made up for everything.
