This beautiful holiday home is in Residencial El Guijo, between Madrid and the famous El Escorial monastery. This completely renovated and equipped home has 3 bedrooms for 6 people. You can relax in one of the swimming pools which is also shared by other guests. This place is ideal for a group of friends or family traveling together.
Valmayor Reservoir lake is within the walking distance. You reach the centre of Madrid in just 4 bus stops in about 30 minutes, a luxury bus will take you directly to the heart of Madrid (every 15/30 minutes). Navacerrada ski lift is 28 km away. Go horse riding 1 km away. There are many restaurants and cafes located nearby.
From the terrace of the house, you can see the entire urbanization, with beautiful gardens, 3 community pools, tennis courts, petanque and more. Special features include a fireplace in the master bedroom, clawfoot tub, and patio doors to the deck for a sense of the outdoors.

Summary: Prima accommodatie tussen de Spanjaarden. Op half tot heel uur rijden van Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Avila en El Escorial. Allemaal een bezoek meer dan waard. En nergens de drukte van de Spaanse kust.

Summary: We had a wonderful two week stay at the property. The place is located in a well taken care of gated community (El Guijo) with three pools,, two restaurants, and tennis courts about 30 minutes away from Madrid. The townhome is well taken care of and well equipped. It has amazing views of the Madrid mountains from the living room and outdoor terrace. The unit has no AC but opening the windows at night helped to keep the place cool. There’s no assigned parking space to the unit but we had no problems finding parking nearby on the street. The owner Pilar was really kind and easy to deal with. We would love to stay here again.

Summary: Heerlijke week in mooi appartement. Madrid goed bereikbaar per openbaar vervoer. Prachtig natuurgebied vlak bij voor heerlijke wandelingen. Het appartement is niet heel licht. Geen zon op buiten-plaats / balkon.

Summary: Casa Alegria is a nice terraced house approx 30 Km North-West of Madrid, the house has lovely views of the Sierra de Guadarrama, Valle de los Caidos (Valley of the Fallen) and Monasterio del Escorial. The house is nicely decorated inside and very clean, some of the fittings are in need of repair (i.e. a wooden curtain board that dropped in the middle of the night, a light switch that has no switch and is a hole in the wall and some electric sockets that are loose). The house is fairly well equiped, but some everyday electric appliances were missing, there was no microwave oven or no ironing or ironing board. We were -however- able to borrow an iron from the landlord. The landlord also kindly let us borrow some children's toys. There are two mountain bikes with children's seats on the back that can be used to explore the area as there are several cycle routes that can be followed. The housing estate is called El Guijo, it has a mixture of flats and terraced houses. It is surrounded by beautifully kept gardens. For sport lovers there are two big swimming pools and a smaller one for little children, several tennis courts, ping-pong tables and football and basketball pitches. Parking is a big problem in the area, there is not always space near the property and often we had to leave our car without visual reach from the house which was not ideal considering that we had to pack/unpack our suitcases. The roads are quite narrow in some places as a result of all the parked cars and it can be tricky to turn in some corners. I would worry about the access of emergency vehicles to the property. The estate seems to be very safe, there is security personnel at the entrance and it is completely enclosed. Please read the contract properly as there is an extra 75 Euro charge for cleaning on leaving the property which I find excessive considering the price of the rental.
