Summary: You’re paying for the convenience of being across the street from the beach. Past that, the property is overpriced / for what people are paying, it should be in much better condition

Summary: The hotel is beautiful, I’ve stayed in many hotels in my day and this one was nice. I had several issues while there. One- I called 5x to have a lamps fixed in my room and still wasn’t fixed. I had to unplug my lights in order to go to bed. The lack of knowledge from staff on what’s in the area was frustrating. The reasoning was nobody was a local, majority were foreigners and barely spoke English. The cost of valet is a crime. $90/day. Asked for a late check out and it was $100/hr. I will never stay there again bc of these few things. At check out I was asked how my stay was, I continued to inform the manager about everything and all she did was give me $50 resort fee back. The other major issue I had is a manager or subcontractor was present on property during our stay and he continued to take pictures of my teenagers at the pool in their swimsuits with his personal phone. So disgusting! Not worth the $1500 I paid to stay there.

Summary: We always enjoy our stay at the Berkeley. The building has its ‘quirks” but the great location and amazing staff more then make up for them

Summary: Strong smell of mold. We woke up with stuffed noses and throat irritation which gradually subsided as we left the premises. May be due to no bathroom fans and age of hotel, Also, noise from others in hotel was surprisingly loud. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

Summary: The only real thing this hotel has going for it is it's proximity to the beach. We've been coming here for a decade, every visit we're told they are "renovating" yet the only things that change are sloppy changes to the lobby, restaurants etc. The pool is up and running again, which is nice, but it is still dirty. It's noisy. The rooms are old. The "black out curtains" had so many rips/tears that it looked like we were sleeping in space. It's like every corner that can be cut, has been. When you are paying premium beach prices, this stings a little. We do change things up and stay at other hotels in the area, we really want to like the Berkeley more than we do but it keeps disappointing us.
