Positive: Excellent facilities, comfy, all modern and brand new and had everything I needed for my stay. Superb location, quiet but just a short trip into town and was an excellent base for exploring Orkney. The lovely host Dorothy welcomed me when I arrived, and the locally made cheese, biscuits and shortbread were great!

Positive: The pod is beautifully presented and maintained with all the facilities, comforts, and treats necessary for a multi-day visit. The hot tub on the deck overlooking Kirkwall and the water in the distance is absolutely wonderful and very private.
Negative: Overhead lighting was *very* bright. Mentioned this to the friendly, helpful, entirely delightful host who undertook to provide additional side lighting.
Summary: A wonderfully relaxing stay in a delightful small property with great views and a fabulous hot tub.

Positive: Brilliant Host, brilliant facilities that are brand new. Lots of love and hard work went into the property. Had a very comfortable stay.
Negative: When we visited there was a large fence blocking the view but we understood that it was out of their control. Would have liked a heads ups prior to our arrival though.

Positive: My sister and I made a last minute trip to Orkney and so glad we decided on Berstane. There are not enough superlatives to describe this accommodation. Apart from the stunning location the pod is fitted out to an amazing standard, exceptionally clean with a great hot tub to relax in after days of sightseeing. Dorothy is an amazing host with great communication, we loved the friendly banter😊

Positive: The location is brilliant - set on the hillside above Kirkwall with a beautiful view. Dorothy and Andy gave us a very warm welcome and were very generous with their welcome pack. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and helped us to consider our options when our return ferry was canceled at short notice due to the weather. The pod is well equipped with everything new and in good working order.
Negative: This was our first experience of a pod. Our stay was the second of two self-catering establishments during our holiday. We travel with quite a lot of luggage. That is our choice, but it puts pressure on limited space within a pod.
Summary: It is a pod - which is both a strength and a weakness. It is a good one however.
