Positive: We’ve stayed in quite a few shepherd’s huts and this was by far the best one we’ve stayed in. Having a hot shower in the shepherd’s hut was amazing! The log fire and fire pit made it so cozy, and switching off from WiFi was great. The surroundings are so beautiful, and waking up to the sound of the stream is incredible. We’ll definitely be back!

Positive: I love the sound of the waterfall when I woke up in the mornings. It was really nice experiencing solidarity after constantly being wound everyone in the city. I really enjoyed the time for experience peace.
Negative: I wish wood would stay heated all night. My bloody toes in the monring 😂😂😂😂😂

Positive: The host sent good directions to find the property- we had no issues despite having no phone signal. The cabin is beautiful and perfectly formed - a very cost space with everything you need for a couple of nights away. The log burner was an excellent feature and kept us nice and toasty during our chilly November visit. It was lovely of the hosts to stock this with logs, firelighters and matches. The bed was comfortable and big enough for 2. The cabin had electric lighting and hot water, and the host even provided a battery pack to charge phones. The location was incredibly peaceful, tucked away on a large farm and in a valley. There was a lovely stream running through the large fenced garden which was lovely to sit by in the evening, and my dog loved paddling. It was very quiet and relaxing - my anxious reactive dog was in his element as soon as he leapt out of the car! Wonderful stay.
Negative: I'd love the option to buy more log sacks to keep the outdoor fire pit going for a few hours.

Positive: I bought my boyfriend the aqueduct canoeing experience as a gift for Christmas so we booked the shepherds hut for our stay. What a glorious corner of the earth! Waking up to the sound of the little creek that runs past the hut & the sound of the sheep is so relaxing. You have no signal so you have a few days away from hectic modern life. The views are absolutely stunning & the stars at night are amazing as there’s no light pollution! You can cozy up by the fire pit & even toast a few marshmallows. Laura was so lovely & helpful & I thank her for sharing her little paradise with us. I would highly recommend the shepherds hut if you’re in the area & wanting a few days “off grid”.
