Closely situated to Birchwood, Stone Lake, Hayward, Rice Lake and Spooner. Quietly nestled into the northeast shore of Lake Chetac, this spacious lake home has all the comforts of home and more. With two full baths and one 3/4 bath, this five bedroom lake home easily provides quiet slumber for as many as 14. Large fully stocked kitchen caters to the family that enjoys cooking yet there are many local restaurants that would love to host you and tell you all about our six-mile lake and the best fishing around. Enjoy your morning coffee on the spacious two-level deck and the sunset or shore fishing from the end of the dock. There is a fire pit perfect for your campfire stories and S'mores. If rain should fall, you may choose from table pool, foosball, or a variety of board games or relax with a book or a movie on the DVD or Smart TV. There is also a library equipped with a dedicated TV for XBox/Playstation connection. We offer free WIFI to work remotely if needed. There are also two fireplaces to snuggle up next to and enjoy your down time. Take a walk on the spacious grounds or adventure on to the nearby 4-wheeler/snowmobile trail across the road for as much wilderness as your heart desires. Fishing on this lake is phenomenal filled with bluegill, large-mouth bass, northern pike, small-mouth bass and walleye. If waterskiing is your passion, this six mile lake will satisfy your skimming desires. Bring your own boat and use the public landing two miles south and secure to our dock or rent a boat nearby. After this stay, you'll be booking for next year! Amenities include: full-size refrigerator, microwave, oven/stove, dishwasher, counter top ice maker, toaster, blender, coffee pot (standard and Keurig), mini refrigerator, ironing board and iron, hair dryers, bedroom clocks, electronics charging station, use of kayak, pedal boat, roasting sticks, landline for local calls, free WIFI, pool table, foosball, cards, many board games, Dish, DVD, mini library, washer and dryer, outdoor gas grill. Summary: Second time at this location. Loved the fishing, boating and hanging out at the house at night playing different games. Downstairs games need replacing, otherwise it is a perfect family location

Summary: The cabin was a nice vacation place for our family! The host was very good about addressing any of our concerns or problems. The dock was very nice, and the boat lift was great. Unfortunately, the lakefront by the dock was extremely weedy and had thick algae/moss, due to the weather. We had to go to another area on the lake in order to swim. It was a fantastic lake for fishing!! We caught a lot of fish; it was nice that there was a fish cleaning table available for us to use.

Summary: We have a group of 12, 8 adults, and 4 kiddos. This house was absolutely perfect for our extended group, as everyone had their own room. The kids loved having the basement 3 queen room to themselves. Kitchen was massive and completely stocked, more than enough room for all to spread out, and for our annual bingo tournament! Basement was an awesome space as well, kids quite bummed that the video games were not working, as we kind of got them hyped for some evening play time, but all in all, this home was just perfect & beautiful! Outdoor space was great, we had a doe with a fawn one morning, and lots of eagle sightings. Love, love, love that they had a dumpster as we have stayed at other rentals on the lake, and they didn’t have these facilities. Would love to be repeat customers here as we visit the same week every year, thank you to owner for quick response to questions! Jen Miles

Summary: Large house in good location on lakefront. Many games, books, grill & outdoor seating available. Disappointed that carpets/rugs were dirty, kitchen cabinets were filthy & gaming equipment didn't work. The entire place needs a deep clean inside & out. I felt like i did the cleaning service job so my grandkids could play on the floors. Its too bad because this home has the potential to be an excellent vacation rental

Summary: Theresa was an exceptional hostess with almost immediate responses to any questions or needs. Cleanliness was only a 4 as downstairs was not to the same level as the upstairs but am completely confident Theresa will handle without fail. Highly recommend this host and property!

Summary: Our extended family of 15 including young kids, to teens to grandparents enjoyed our stay on the property. It was a great set up for sleeping (comfortable beds and beautiful furniture & decor), games (we loved the arcade games and pool table as well as the assortment of board games available), movies (had a few rainy days but kids found many great selections to choose from), and feeding everyone! There was plenty of comfortable seating for relaxing and around the table and island. We loved the outdoor deck and patio and spent a good amount of time grilling out, visiting, and reading out there in the comfortable furniture. We enjoyed a nice fire around the fire pit as well and played games in the yard. Just a couple disappointments...unfortunately, there was no swimming off the pier as the lake was filled with tall weeds and algae which was a bummer, especially for the kids. We had to take our boat to the sandbar to be able to swim. The fishing was great however and the kids were still able to go tubing so we made it work. The available kayaks and the paddleboat gave us options to enjoy the lake as well. There is so much wildlife to see all around, we loved watching all of the eagles and even saw a pelican! Also, when we arrived we had to wipe clean the toilets and the downstairs shower which had some mold in it before use. Cleaning supplies were well stocked but we would have preferred not to have to do that upon arrival. Other supplies, including laundry, toiletries, dish soap, etc. were readily and generously available for use and for refilling throughout the week as well as ample stock of towels. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our week at the Birchwood Haven and thank the host for sharing their beautiful property with us!

Summary: We had so much fun staying at Birchwood Haven. A boat is a must have, but it was very easy to find a rental. Everything you need is stocked and mostly everything you might want. There is only one downside. The lower level bedrooms and living area have a very musty smell and triggered allergies and asthma for a couple of our family members. Otherwise we completely enjoyed our stay.
