This quiet and cozy spot atop the end of a charming historic street adjoins a wooded area and offers a spectacular view of French Lick Resort. The renovated fully stocked kitchen has a dining nook and coffee station including a French press and Keurig. The living room features a reading area, fireplace, sleeper sofa, and is a perfect place for a family game night. Both bedrooms have queen beds and the front bedroom offers a unique workspace for checking emails.
Bird’s Eye View was built in 1915 during the era where two major resort hotels were undergoing rebuild and expansion projects. Nestled atop S. Virginia Avenue, Bird’s Eye View offers just that, a splendid view of French Lick Resort. We encourage you to take a peek at some of the coffee table books describing the rich history of the region. The owned and adjoining wooded property provides a retreat with local wildlife including chipmunks, squirrels. deer, a wide variety of birds, including cardinals, blue birds, robins, hummingbirds and owls.
Our family fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw the front porch, which happens to be our favorite room. We took pride in the renovation projects with the property including restoring the hardwood floors in the bedrooms (under four layers of carpet and glued pads) and stripping multiple layers of paint from the mantle. We left the original oil pane windows intact in the living room and front bedroom. They add a historic feature and decorative aspect to the home. ** Please note, due to the steep incline of the street and the distance between the back driveway and side door, this property may not be suitable for individuals who require assistive devices for walking or have difficulty with balance.

Summary: The Birds Eye View is a charming, comfortable and delightful place. My family enjoyed a long weekend here. The kitchen is well stocked, there are fun games for all ages, the porch is a great place to hand out and the wooded area behind the house makes you forget you are in a town. The house is conveniently located to restaurants an and shops and many local attractions. The host is very responsive. You can’t go wrong staying here.

Summary: I cannot say enough about our amazing stay at Bird's Eye View. The house was a charming architectural gem. The beds were ultra comfortable and the place was decorated with very loving detail.The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and clean. The hosts were very pleasant to work with and stocked the fridge with fresh bottled water coffee and treats.We loved the historic pictures and book about the resort and the bungalow smelled fresh and inviting. We loved staying at Bird's Eye View.

Summary: We had a lovely stay. French Lick is a charming destination but we were most pleased with this gorgeous sweet retreat. The house was very well appointed. Summary: Beautifully decorated, modern and cozy cottage with everything you need for your stay, plus some little extra surprises! Owner was very attentive, as we were there during a winter storm, and he cleared sidewalks and driveway promptly. We will definitely make this place our yearly anniversary getaway!
