Positive: Most difficult place, It's a cosy small hotel and clean with the most difficult manager and a little experience. Very unreliable Wi-Fi and no hot water for taking shower. The message below will explain the situation in this hotel, and I am confident that they will deny the facts. After the booking, I have requested a proper address and the direction to the place and they even were unable to provide this basic information and I had to spend 30 minutes at the bus station till I found the bike rider who was willing to call and get the direction to their place. For the information to other travellers, I attached the room description on the time of booking. Since my departure, they have changed the listing on the website. Even the owner was dishonest and insisted that I booked a room with a shared bathroom despite the fact the room that I was booked, it was with the private bathroom, and I hope I can attach my booking confirmation here. My recent experience at this property, has been both disappointing and stressful due to misleading information presented on the website and the unprofessional and aggressive behaviour by the site manager Benjamin that I encountered during my check-in process. As someone who has travelled extensively around the world, including across 33 African countries, I can confidently say that my experience with this property has been one of the most unpleasant to date—and unfortunately, this is the second time it has happened. Firstly, I had booked a room clearly advertised as having a private bathroom (please refer to the attached screenshots of the room description and your general listing). However, upon arrival, I was told that my booking was for a room with a shared bathroom. Despite showing the listed amenities and photos from the website, Benjamin the manager insisted otherwise and dismissed the clearly misleading nature of the listing. Only after a lengthy and uncomfortable argument was I provided the key

Negative: inquired about extending my stay for two more nights and was quoted $14 per night, despite the listed price on the website being $13 ( see attached). I pointed out that most hotels offer discounts for direct bookings, especially since no commission is paid to platforms like Booking.com. Instead of acknowledging this, I was told the lower rate applied only to shared bathroom rooms—again contradicting the original listing and creating further confusion and frustration. To make matters worse, I booked a room in Gisenyi under the same management, and then I encountered the same issue—being told by Benjamin that my room came with a shared bathroom, despite having booked one with a private bathroom. This points to a pattern of misinformation and misleading the guests and shockingly they have cancelled all my booking because they have not been happy to be challenged for their dishonesty and misleading information.

Negative: Initially we were shown a room in the house with shared bathroom which would have been fine. The room we were given had an ensuite which had a strong smell coming from the drain.

Positive: Great value for money. Breakfast was good. Bathroom is shared with another room but no dramas. WIFI was good! Hot water takes a while but that's like most places in the region. Secured parking. Dirt road leading to the property, was fine for the 4x4 but depending if it's raining, might be a challenge for a smaller car.
