Borgo Valle Rita offers simple but comfortable apartments with antique furniture and a range of facilities. In the hotel’s peaceful gardens you will find a swimming pool and tennis courts. A children’s playground is available, and near the hotel you will find horse riding stables and a golf club. You can also explore the area on mountain bike. Positive: Very clean, elegant, peaceful location but sleepless nights due to stray dogs bark all night long.
Negative: Definitely did not meet our expectation of what they pretend they are. The photos on Booking were deliberately misleading: horses & animals belong to another property, outside the resort, upon arrival, the owner did not welcome us, nor gave any explanation, only opened the door to our room & left. Quite disrespectful. Worst is Safety is absolutely not considered as there are no staff available at nights, no lifeguard present at the pool even during day time, the whole place is just left very much unsupervised. If a disaster or medical emergency happened, there would be no help. Additionally, there are dinners organised at nights where outsiders join for the overpriced, so-called chic dinners. So expect strangers being around overnight without supervise except young staff of the restaurant. This is not a place of genuine care or hospitality, just a focus on extracting money from guests.
Summary: I do not recommend this place at all.

Positive: Situated in driving distance of Matera in the middle of nowhere. Incredibly kind staff that make this stay amazing. Great pool and breakfast.
