Shangri-La Resort's main house includes large oceanfront living spaces, living room, dining area and kitchen, as well as two king bedrooms and two bathrooms. The North and South Cabanas each have a living room, a queen bedroom, a bunk bedroom (3 twins) and a full bathroom respectively.
The huge wrap-around covered decks offer endless sea breezes, stunning ocean views, and fabulous spots for sharing a drink and conversation with your loved ones. Shangri-La Resort is fun for family members of all ages and generations. Shangri-La Resort is located on the barrier islands, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Indian River Intercoastal Waterway to the west. The home is 1/8th mile down a private unpaved white sand road through a jungle belonging to the property, which is just off the beautiful A1A coastal two lane highway, near the estate section of Vero Beach. No hotels or high-rises for miles in either direction, but not too far from wonderful "old vero" beachside shops and restaurants. Several bridges provide convenient access to nearby mainland grocery and big box shopping.
LOGGERHEAD, GREEN and LEATHERBACK, OH MY!
Vero Beach is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in North America. The beach in front of Shangri-La Resort is a popular nesting site for several species of sea turtles, including loggerhead, green and leatherback.
There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests, reduce visible light at night by closing ocean-facing curtains and blinds, turn off or reduce lights facing the ocean, and if walking on the beach at night use only red light flashlights (provided in the lending library at Shangri-La Resort).
SPACE EXPLORATION
SpaceX and NASA rocket launches are often visible from the deck at Shangri-La Resort. While the launches are generally quite visible to the naked eye, binoculars are available in the ShangriLa Resort Lending Library. Check calendars for launch dates and times.
