5 Bedroom Villa in Mal Pais

We are a luxury destination in Costa Rica boasting the most spectacular view in all of Mal Pais. We are located in the hills of Mal Pais at the highest point overlooking the beaches of Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, and Hermosa. On a clear day, you can see 50 miles of coast line beyond the town of Samara. The house is surrounded by and overlooks the jungles of Mal Pais and adjoins the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. This is an incredible location to view the magnificent wildlife that the area is known for, including the great White Hawks of Costa Rica. The surrounding jungle is teeming with howler and white-faced monkeys that are often seen around the house foraging off the abundant fruiting and flowering trees.
The location is a perfect getaway for a group of 4-10 guests. It has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms in the main house with an ocean view, and the option to rent an on-site apartment for extra cost to accommodate groups of up to 14 guests. All bedrooms and bathrooms inside the main house have a balcony with a spectacular ocean view. An additional bedroom, bathroom, and loft are available in the guest house that sleeps 6 (no ocean views). We have a large Infinity swimming pool surrounded by an open patio that is perfect for small intimate weddings and other social events. There is an outdoor patio and seating area with a BBQ grill. There are additional outdoor areas with lots of seating. It is hard to describe how amazingly beautiful this view is! Once you are at the Vista Real pool relaxing in the shade of the palm trees, you will know you made the right choice for your vacation. It is simply breathtaking!
The area is well known for its surfing, yoga, bird watching, horseback riding, zip lines, fishing, ATV tours, and plentiful wildlife. Our concierge can help arrange many wonderful and memorable excursions. The area also boasts 63 restaurants and many wonderful markets so finding good food is very easy. Local chefs are available for hire as well.

Summary: We spent two weeks at Villa Vista Real with family and friends, and it was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The views from the home are breathtaking, the house is even more amazing than the pictures, and the beds were very comfortable. Soraya, Martin and Blanca were there to help us with any requests throughout our stay and made sure that everything went smoothly. You need a 4x4 vehicle to get up the driveway, but the trek is worth it for the views. We will definitely be back some day!

Summary: Everyone had a fantastic time. The accommodations were perfect for a family of 9. Everyone had their own bed, and the house was big enough that when someone wanted go hide for a quiet time there was lots of areas to do this! Soraya did an awesome job of looking after us and the staff on site were very very accommodating!

Summary: The pictures don’t do the home and setting justice! Wonderful pool for kids and adults. The house staff is stellar. The road up the mountain is rough and steep so 4wd is imperative. It’s worth the ride.

Summary: This is an absolutely amazing property! House is sprawling and gorgeous, with amazing views from every room. So much room for a group! I have never had better service. We had a couple of small issues that were corrected immediately. It was perfect for us to be halfway between busy Santa Teresa and the quiet coast to the south with the charming town of Montezuma with its waterfalls and boat access to Tortuga island. The road is rough but so worth it!

Summary: This place is fantastic. It is very remote making the quality of the residence even more impressive. You absolutely need to have 4wd vehicles and get ready for the adventure up the hill to this amazing perch. Soraya is very easy to work with and can arrange for almost anything during your stay. Daily monkey visits were common and the four families staying together had plenty of room to spread out. If you are up for getting away from the rest of the crowd this is the place for you! Summary: I can not even put into words how unbelievable Villa vista Real is! Photos do it no justice, the staff Geraldo and Blanca, she showed up with fresh fish for us one am, were all 5star! Soraya is an amazing host and so very helpful with reservations, reconditions, getting ATVS and just making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves! The nature, animals, views make this the most beautiful places I’ve stayed! The sunsets are like no other and the sunrise is so peaceful! Truly five stars, we ended up at Villa Vista Real, due to our reservation being cancelled due to a covid out break- everything happens for a reason couldn’t be more applicable here! Already planning our return! Thank you for everything, showing our girls our favorite place on earth was so much better staying with you!! ❤️🏄‍♂️✌️

Summary: To begin, the property manager Soraya was just awesome to work with. Extremely accommodating. We also developed a lovely rapport with the grounds and house keeper. Very kind people. The location offers views second to none. Abundant opportunity to enjoy regional wildlife on the doorstep. We saw monkeys, toucans, iguanas, some weird little pig/rodent type animal, plenty of gorgeous butterflies, and an array of other birds as well. The sunsets are extraordinary, easily the highlight at the property!!!! If you are arriving by your own (rented) vehicle, there is NO OPTION but to have a 4x4. An “all-wheel” drive won’t cut it. We also rented quads and a side-by-side which was a HUGE advantage for going to Montezuma and into Santa Teresa. The property has a very well equipped kitchen, which was a plus for our family as we love to cook. If you are looking for test and relaxation….look no further!!!
