Situated right by the gates of Berlin Bernau offers many leisure and recreational activities for singles and families. Our radically modernized holiday home is situated in a quiet neighborhood - under the motto: Arrive and feel.
The house in the bungalow style needs no stairs. Living room, kitchen and dining area are united in an open space, which offers through a large window and natural skylight even in rainy weather much brightness.

The bathroom has a bath, a modern shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, stove, and microwave.
The terrace is perfect for relaxing together, in the summer house there are four garden chairs, garden table and grill ready for free use. Snacking in summer like our fruit trees! Bicycles for excursions can be made available if required. The car is well protected under a carport.

The city center is within walking distance. Short distances also lead to a nearby shopping center and the Bernauer "Sports Forum" with its many fitness facility, and a sauna. The Bernau Station is about 2 km away.

Summary: Owners are very nice and helpful if you need them. The house is in a quiet neighborhood of Bernau a very nice historic town. And ideal starting point for trips to Berlin or cycling or walking.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay here. It was low stress to stay there, the home itself was lovely, and the Flemmings were very helpful. We had a comfortable bed, plus two single beds in the kids' room. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our breakfasts. We took the train to and from Berlin Hbf each day. It was about 40-45 minutes one way, though... NOT 20-30 minutes, as some of the other reviewers have stated. Still, it was well worth it for how nice and peaceful it was staying there in Bernau. We would definitely return!

Summary: This charming unit had the best equipped kitchen of any HomeAway unit we have stayed in over the past two years (a total of 9 properties). This unit is conveniently located as well---close to a train that takes you directly to downtown Berlin, and close to supermarkets and shopping in the charming town of Bernau. Berlin is lovely with so many places to see, but it was wonderful to get away to fresh air and quiet at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. The train ride from the Bernau station (about a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes by car) takes only about 20 minutes to get to the Brandenburg Gate. The train runs like clockwork every 20 minutes. We found the trains, trams and buses to be very easy to navigate and we were also so pleased that Berliners are very friendly, open and approachable. Our host was very nice and accommodating---truly welcoming and willing to share information about their city and their lives in Germany as well. We even got a special treat of some videos about the history of Germany and a great talk with the host about life in the GDR prior and during reunification. It was fascinating! There is also reading material, games, and a lovely yard and patio. Everything anyone could possibly want! We would love to return to this home and will next time we are in Germany!
