Positive: This was an ideal place to stay in every way. The location is stunningly beautiful. The accommodations are superb. The optional breakfasts and lunches were excellent. Kate is a terrific host. I could not say enough about the Burnside Lodge. If I ever make it back to Islay (and I certainly hope I do), I'll hope to return to it.

Negative: Nothing....though I suppose it's pretty car-dependent (we had a rental so this was no problem for us). The bus does stop very nearby (and we were able to take it to and from Bruichladdich for a whisky tasting, so this is a real plus) but it runs fairly infrequently.

Summary: The Burnside Lodge was a simply magical place to stay.
