4 Bedroom Cabin in Sugar Pine, Oakhurst

Poppy and Pine cabin is located in the historic community of Sugar Pine, nestled between the town of Oakhurst and the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. Hike to nearby Red Rock and Corlieu Falls or just enjoy the solitude of the Sierra National Forest, with the sounds of the Sugar Pine Railroad whistle in the distance. Within 20 minutes you can be boating and fishing at Bass Lake, shopping and dining in Oakhurst, or pulling into a parking space at the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
You will have the entire cabin and back deck, and a maximum of three parking spaces at the cabin. Please note, there is NO additional parking available on the street or anywhere in the community.
Between November to April the cabin @4,400 ft of elevation experiences occasional snow and extreme weather. Please be prepared - all vehicles should carry chains. We also highly suggest that your visit to the cabin (and nearby Yosemite, Bass Lake) be done with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) or 4 Wheel Drive (4WD 4x4) vehicle during this time of year.
Sugar Pine is a fairly secluded mountain community. The cabin is located on a dirt road, and there are no stores, gas stations, or restaurants in the immediate area. You must have a vehicle in order to access the community.
On the main level, there is a large living room, a dining room with a table that seats 8, and an adjoining kitchen with a large center island.
* Primary Bedroom includes a King bed with ensuite full bathroom
* Bedroom #1 includes a King bed
* Bedroom #2 includes two Queen beds.
* Full bathroom with shower in the hall.
* Upstairs is a fourth bedroom with two Queen beds with half bathroom.
We also have two roll-away twin beds and a Pack-N-Play portable crib. One of the rollaways is kept in the primary closet with the pack-n-play. If you need the second rollaway, please let us know.

Summary: This was a wonderful house for our family while exploring Yosemite. The house has an awesome vibe and is just as the pictures show. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and the owners leave nice touches such as local coffee, sunscreen and bug spray They were very responsive to a small issue with the refrigerator. My only complaint is that the service fees (mostly VBRO) were very high , almost $900 for 3 nights.

Summary: The simple exterior of the Poppy & Pine cabin hides a beautifully decorated, modern home away from home. Each room is comfortable with fine quality furniture and bedding. The entire house is easy to navigate, with clear signs and labels on all cabinets and appliances. There is plenty of room to sleep and relax, games to play, and nature to explore. The individual heating and cooling units made it easy to keep the space warm enough for everyone. The hosts provided clear directions to the cabin, instructions for parking and entry, details about how to get to Yosemite, as well as unique review of local food and shops. On our arrival day, we stopped for barbecue in town and brought it to the house; on departure day, we discovered a wonderful waterfall just a mile's walk away. I could only wish for more time to explore the old logging town structures that are scattered around the historic Sugar Pine neighborhood. Anyone looking for an interesting base from which to explore Yosemite and a comfortable, relaxing home to return to in the evenings should consider a stay at Poppy & Pine!

Summary: This house had everything we needed for our multigenerational trip! It’s close to Yosemite and the cutest little railroad which made getting where we wanted to go easy. We appreciated all of Liz’s labels in the kitchen and her recommendations of places to eat! One of our favorite things about the house was the loft movie projector. We would 100% stay here again. Thanks for everything Liz!

Summary: This cabin is everything you could want in a vacation rental. Liz has thought of everything, then labeled and provided it. The beds and linens are like new and very comfortable. The highly efficient A/C was a must have during the 4th of July heatwave. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of generous extras. Having 2.5 bathrooms makes getting out at 6 am to head to Yosemite a lot easier. Finally, this beautiful cabin is ideal for 2 families to share.
