Beautiful 3 bdrm cottage on a half acre lot directly on the shore of Canadarago Lake, a short fifteen min. drive to Cooperstown. Open floor plan with a full kitchen/dining, and living room . The home is equipped with a full size washer(detergent supplied), and dryer for your convenience during your stay. Outdoor deck 16'X32' with half of deck covered, provides additional space to barbeque, dine, & enjoy the lake view. Accommodates 7, with 3 bedrooms, and 2 full baths.
The space
Beautiful large deck with view of Canadarago Lake with gas grill for outdoor barbecuing. Deck also has large outdoor dinning table.
The yard is flat and level with no steps to lakefront. The Property has ample parking for all of our guests.
Additionally, we have three kayaks, and paddle boat with life jackets for your enjoyment during your stay.
Large open fire pit on lakeshore for relaxing evenings making smores.
The lake shore has a 56' dock. It is a great area for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and feeding the ducks.
Interaction with guests
Owners live offsite but are available for any questions that may arise. If we are unable to meet you we will leave the key in the lockbox, with some instructions to help you out!
Our normal check in/out times are 10am and 3pm respectively to allow our cleaning crew to get the home ready for our next guests. If we don't have guests checking out or in on your days of arrival and departure we will be glad to extend the times to noon, given short notice rentals we usually cannot confirm this until time of stay.

Summary: Camp Moonshine was a perfect fit for 3 couples with kids playing at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Our hosts greeted us with a welcome basket on the table and a nice clean lake home. Check in was simple, even so that our friends beat us there due to our flight cancellation, and they had no problems. The beds were comfy and linens were fresh. We sat on the porch every morning an d had our coffees, and we were even able to fish a couple of mornings. All in all it met all of our lake home expectations, and we would certainly stay again if we ever get back to the area.

Summary: The location of the property was very deceiving from the pictures, my assumption was it was a house, but it’s a mobile home in the middle of a mobile home park, the inside of the house was not bad, just the first impression from driving up at 1 in the morning, water was an issue, for some reason it stained our clothes orange?? And also the smell of water ?? We were in Cooperstown to watch my grandson play, so luckily we weren’t home much, Great communication when I needed it, they left a great gift basket, overall for the money we paid, we were surprised for what we got, maybe it just wasn’t our cup of tea ..

Summary: We booked Camp Moonshine while we were watching our nephew play baseball at Cooperstown. It is a great location, just 15 minutes away from the ballpark. We had a great time being able to kayak, fish, and swim all right in our back yard. The outside deck was awesome, the beds were comfortable and overall we had a great time! My suggestion to anyone renting would be to make sure you read all the fine print. Karl & Michelle advertised that this rental was big enough for 7 people, but when reading further, any guests over 4 is a $15 charge per person per day and that also includes day guests. We booked this location because of the ability to hold 7 guests like the listing said, I did not do a good job of reading the rules and didn’t notice the $15 per day per person charge. That being said we ended up spending an extra $330 for the 3 additional guests over 4. If the hosts only want 4 guests at the location then it needs to be advertised as such. Also upon arrival the hosts left a 2 pager of rules that were not indicated on the listing, there was even a rule on how high to keep the thermostat. Again, we had a great time and it is a great location, just wanted to make sure you knew the specifics that we did not know when we booked the location.

Summary: I loved the area the location was in and very great for people that enjoys the outdoors. The lake is a very nice addition and great for kids. Close to Cooperstown and other areas to enjoy your stay. The owners are very nice and understanding. I would recommend and definitely stay at this location again if I have the chance. My family loved the house and being able to enjoy the time in the area.

Summary: I didn't rent this solely for being on a lake, for that reason ( my own error on not knowing a few things )it was not always pleasurable. If you want lake life, you'll be happy. It's a double wide,in a trailer,camper area. Lots of neighbors, although they seemed to be very quiet. It's nearest store is like 4 miles away in small town.Good for quiet retreat. Smores by fire a few nights were nice. Just double check location is my advice.

Summary: Property was nice, owner communication was very fast, the lake is clear and clean, you can see the bottom and the seaweed but that is where the fish hide. Overall a very good experience .

Summary: My family just returned from a week at Camp Moonshine and we are already talking about how much we miss it. You can’t go wrong with the lake views, kayaks, covered deck. Our hosts were wonderful providing us with many restaurant and activity ideas plus an incredible welcome basket!! Thank you Michelle and Karl.

Summary: We had a lovely time, the house is neat, clean, and well stocked. There is a great covered deck with a nice view of the lake. The best time is during the week, as there are very few people around. We've never rented a lake place before, and had thought it would be a little more private, but really enjoyed the tranqility. Karl and Michele left a lovely gift basket with lots of local goodies, made some great suggestions for things to do and places to eat, It was just great to relax in this covid summer and enjoy the peace and calm and beauty of the area.
