Summary: friendly owner left us good local coffee. Great location close to a lot. great mountain view. There is a bar with in walking distance!

Summary: All things considered, this was a good stay. Amy was friendly and communicative. The turkeys, chickens, and kitties were great! For the price, the space was a good size, and clean. The train is definitely a thing to consider. I didn’t have earplugs in the first night (a Monday), and that seemed to be the worst night for trains. I think four came through from 9:30 pm until 6:30 am. And the horn was very loud (like, vibrate the bed loud). I found earplugs at Target (rated to block sound up to 32 dcb) and that made a world of difference, as far as the train and traffic noise was concerned, for the rest of my stay. As another older guest mentioned, the bed is squeaky and a bit uncomfortable. The WiFi was spotty, and didn’t work for awhile, but Amy was responsive and got it up and running again, in pretty rapid fashion. All said, if you remember earplugs, and are looking for a space to crash after a day of hiking, or sight-seeing, or just absorbing Colorado, this is definitely a good space to stay. You will feel absolutely welcomed by the humans and the critters that live onsite.

Summary: All of the reviews on here were spot on! (except for the turkey/chicken chasing one because the farm animals were loveable and completely docile). Yes, there is a train and it's usually pretty short. Yes, there is mild road noise but it's basically background noise. The view was incredible! The Captain's Quarters are simple and just enough for 2. Clean and comfortable. But if you can, I also recommend Amy's other listing as well. It's cute as a button! Only minor criticisms (and barely that): The bed was a little bouncy on the box springs - I was comfortable - but a less bouncy surface would have been a bit better for us older folks. I slept like a champ just the same. Maybe could have used a larger pan to cook on. But really....that is about it! The walking distance into town, and the town itself, was perfect. Plenty to eat, see, and explore....as if Colorado wasn't enough on it's own. Her place is easily accessible to the main road and the town of Longmont is a short drive, should you need anything Niwot doesn't have. Amy (and her family) were incredibly kind, responsive, and absolutely wonderful people. We would stay with them again and again unless our travels put us on the other side of the Rockies. I HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting this area to book with her. Our first VRBO experience was 10/10! Thanks so much Amy!

Summary: I think this may be one of my absolute favorite places I've ever stayed. Highlights of our stay would have to be getting to know Amy and Robbie, our amazing hosts, as well as being greeted by Sweet Girl, Rebel, and Beautiful Boy every morning for breakfast. The Captain's quarters were perfect for us. Amy and Robbie were thrilled to share their knowledge about aquaponics and greenhouses with us, which was fascinating and may have inspired me to try a small scale operation in my kitchen. They also gave us some of the best tomatoes I've ever had. We spent most of the days out exploring, but this would also suit someone looking to just stay in. Yes, there are train tracks right near the property, but it wasn't a bother for us, just a little loud for a moment while it passes. I'm sure as train schedules change throughout the year it can be more, but during out stay it wasn't bad at all. We really appreciated how close Niwot was to Boulder and Longmont, without feeling like we were right in the middle of everything. And to top it off I think Niwot might be one of the most beautiful communities I've ever seen. We will definitely consider this for future trips to the area.

Summary: Cannot beat the location or amenities for the price. Captain's quarters was lovely...had basic kitchen utensils, appliances, iron and board and size wise, was exactly all I needed. The reason I have 4 out of 5 was because of a couple issues I experienced during my stay: this property is located right next to train tracks and a train would come through, wake me up and id go back to sleep. I wasn't there for TV or games but rather being outside and hiking however it would've been nice if TV had cable or other components working then just the DVD/VCR...maybe it was user error. :) overall, this place was great and I would definitely stay here again, whenever I can get back to CO.

Summary: We had such a nice time at Captain's Quarters. It was just a pit-stop to reset between my partner's first camping trip and the rest of our trip which would be spent with a small group. The chickens and turkeys are beautiful. The short hike off the property was really nice. The VHS/DVD selection is exquisite. Would revisit in the future
