The house is restored, respecting the wood and stone materials in which it was built. It has 4 very spacious rooms, as well as a very comfortable living-dining room and kitchen. Summary: We were so pleased with this rental. It was the first time we had the experience where the location was actually even better than the photos. This place is immaculate, with more space than we knew what to do with. Our daughter was thrilled to have the third floor with its own bathroom all to herself. We had the middle floor with its own bath to ourselves and the first floor was a spacious living room, dining and kitchen area with its own half bath. The best part was that all the appliances, showers, windows, etc were as modern as can be yet the house itself kept with the ancient character of the village - phenomenal renovation job! The communication with the owners was fantastic. Cesar and Elena responded very quickly to all my messages and when we arrived, (late because of a train delay) Cesar was there to meet us at the door and give us a full tour. Then there is the town of Molinaseca itself which is like taking a leap back in history. I was thrilled there was a small grocery store with everything we needed right across the street. The owner was so nice, he gave us free trail mix to sample every time we visited and when we left, he came out to wish us well and say goodbye. The week in June while we were there, store was open from 9am - 10pm. (I’m not sure if it closed for siesta since we traveled during the day.) We enjoyed walking from one end of the village to the other looking at the architecture of the buildings, their gardens, the beautiful Roman bridge, the pretty river, the church. We have family in Ponferrada which is just a short 5 minute drive away. We will definitely look to book this rental again the next time we visit the area.
