In this coconut palm grove with beautiful manicured gardens, common area pools and active sea turtle sanctuary, is our home away from home.
'The villas at Playa Las Tortugas, 70 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, share over 5 miles of perfect white beach with nothing but a coconut palm plantation. Volunteer to rescue turtle eggs on the beach, place baby turtles on the wet sand, and watch as moonlight sparkling off the waves guides them to the sea- 'Sunset Magazine'
Our 'casa' with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. 1 king pillow top bed and 2 queen size pillow top beds. Each bedroom has air-conditioning and walk in tile showers. There are approximately 3,636sq feet of interior space and 1,750sq feet of terraces. The views of the beach and gardens are easily enjoyed from each level, while you are cooking in the open kitchen listening to music and visiting with family/guests. A great kitchen for yourself that is well-equipped. Your own personal Cook and meals available upon request for your stay.
Casa de Colores offers air conditioning in all rooms – a special benefit when the mid-day temperatures heat up. The kitchen is equipped with full size appliances and bottled water is supplied. Bath and bedroom linens are provided.
On the main level for the master bedroom and the living and dining areas you’ll find over 900sq feet of terraces with a living room area that opens onto the front terrace that offers shade and a pleasing combination of indoor-outdoor space.
Up the staircase from the living room is the sunning terrace with more than 825sq feet with its own thatched palapa for shade with panoramic views of the common area gardens, the ocean, the mangroves of the estuary and the mountains. A perfect place for your evening margaritas while watching the sunset, sunbathe, play board games, read a book or just sit and listen to the crashing waves on the beach, and stare at the stars.
Our entire state of Nayarit area enjoys one of the most favorable climates in the world. Average daily year-round temperatures range from highs of 80-85 degrees (perfect beach weather) to lows of 60-70 degrees(perfect sleeping weather). Swim year round, but consider packing a light sweater for the evenings in the winter months. Rain, when it falls, generally occurs between June and September as night-time or pre-dawn thundershowers.
Canoe or swim across the estuary for lunch at one of Platanitos’ six sand floored, oceanfront restaurants. Enjoy a walk or a barefooted run on over 5 miles of uninhabited sand beach that is lined with palm trees and goes on as far as the eye can see. The ocean waves are great for boogie boards, surfers, and ocean kayaks. The large community pool and the new 65 ft lap pool are just steps from Casa de Colores. Volunteering to help the Turtle Camp research facility preserve the endangered sea turtle population is a popular guest activity. Even small children can participate in the release of hatchlings - sometimes as many as 1,000 in one evening.
Playa Las Tortugas has kilometers of uncrowded, clean sand beach, and a number of activities both on property and nearby such as Surfing, Wave Kayaking, Boogie Boarding, Fishing, and Shelling, Canoeing, Whale Watching, Bird Watching, Walking or Running on Miles of Sand Beach, Frequently there is one festival or another in small towns within an hour of our location. There are a number of excursions you might take, with or without a guide. Let us know we can arrange it.
We are happy to arrange transportation for you in our private shuttle, you may rent a car and drive yourself which a large number of our guests do. We can send you details on the numerous car rental companies. It’s quite easy to find your way from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport to Playa Las Tortugas, and the roads are normally well-maintained. Your valid driver's license is accepted in Mexico, and the driving rules are virtually the same as most countries. Write us for a copy of detailed driving instructions and a map. Your scenic drive north from the airport takes less than 2 hours and goes through areas of old-growth jungle and coastal hills.

Summary: A fabulous property with the choice of a fantastic deserted beach. We had our family of 5 along with one other 2other families staying in the other houses and 5 miles of fantastic beach to ourselves for a week. Participating in the release of baby sea turtles into the wild on multiple nights around sunset was the highlight of the trip. Thank you Molly and Jose!

Summary: Beautiful house by a beautiful beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Vallarta. We loved the sea turtle releases every evening at the turtle sanctuary right next door. We may have seen half a dozen others on the ten-mile beach in the three days we were there. Go, and relax!!

Summary: We had a wonderful vacation staying at Casa de Colores! The property owners were so helpful and communicative prior to and during our stay, leaving us with no concerns about traveling with young kids to a more secluded corner of the world. The house was comfortable, immaculate, and we loved the outdoor spaces for lounging and eating! The pool was great! So refreshing and lovely steps/seats for lounging in the pool. Alma and Jose, the caretakers, were kind and attentive. Alma’s cooking was delicious and we are so glad we decided to opt for this inexpensive option for 4 of our 7 days stay. The beach was secluded, with soft sand and gorgeous sunsets. Our group was able to release turtle hatchlings! Hard to say who was more delighted by this- the kids or adults who know what a rarity this is!! We are already looking at our calendar to see when we can come back. Thank you!!

Summary: Spacious and comfortable. The daily turtle launches (releases) are a real treat!! Not sure about payment. Daniel at the gatehouse office took 200 Pesos per stay, or was it per day? Not sure. Alma's cooking was great. Try the Lime Pie! We ordered two to take home with us. Very nice family, Alma, Jenny and Jose. They were there every day, all day, so the place is really cared for. I have never seen a cleaner pool. Quite an expedition for groceries so bring your own. You might be able to get some fresh fish from the fishermen in the little village, Platanitos - half hour by car, ten minutes if you swim the channel which empties and refills the salt marsh, I guess that is what it is. Pleasant hanging in the current too for the 25 feet which you have to swim. (There are multiple stairs. Take the longest one that goes to the tallest building on the channel shore. The other stairs are private and do not lead to the road). Hope to return one day. Thank you Molly and Glen!

Summary: If you're looking for a beautiful, tropical vacation this is the place to go! From the beautiful white sandy beaches, to the amazing private pool, and the most mouth watering food, it truly doesn't get any better! The house and surrounding grounds are absolutely gorgeous. It's very clean and well maintained. Alma cooks the best authentic meals that everyone loves! The owners do a great job accommodating all your needs. This place has it all! We can't wait to go back again!!

Summary: If your looking for paradise this home is it!! Everything was so easy! from booking with them and communicating and setting everything up. As you drive up to the home all you see is amazing beautiful grounds just paradise. The home is set to make you feel at home with comfort and all the features you are looking for. Every detail has been set thinking of how they can make us feel more comfortable. It was the best trip we have taken, having your own private pool and just steps from the most amazing beach you have ever set your eyes on. One of The best parts was Alma that takes care of the place with her husband Jose, the nicest people. Alma made the most amazing homemade foods for breakfast and dinner. If you want to get away to paradise this is the place its just amazing and you will never see a nicer beach highly recommend cant wait to go back

Summary: Wow! Such a beautiful home...the pictures don't even do it justice! Loved their spacious home and the back patio was such a great place to hang out. The pool is just gorgeous and refreshing...the grounds are amazing and it is just a short 350 step walk to the ocean. Did I mention how beautiful the beach is?? The water was so warm and it is very secluded. The owners make you feel so welcome and provide everything you need. But honestly THE BEST part is having Alma's homemade meals prepared for you every day!! So delicious AND nothing to clean up! That's a vacation!! Can't wait to go back next month. Absolutely LOVE Casa De Colores!!

Summary: Back in October my wife and I rented the Casa de Colores in playas las Tortugas For a long birthday weekend We flew out of Tijuana for the first time which ended up being the perfect way to go so easy arriving in tepic the scenery was phenomenal reminded me of flying in to Hawaii getting the rental car was so easy We stopped at a store got our snacks and booze and headed to the house we were warned that the road to the house was a bit long but to me that was all part of the journey it was not bad at all We had heard about the house but talking about it did not do justice it was so amazing My wife and I love to go to all inclusive resorts in Mexico but this place we feel top that there is a husband and wife Alma and Jose that take care of the place Alma cooked you breakfast and dinner and the food was more than amazing and Jose did the landscaping when my wife and I first heard that there would be two people at the house we thought it might be kind of weird but after staying there when we go back in March we couldn’t imagine if they were not there to cook for us again The property is amazing the pool was perfect the short walk to the beach it was a perfect vacation can’t wait to go back
