Positive: The house was huge, more than enough for our needs (2 couples and 2 children), good room heating options, quiet neighborhood, close to some forests and nice walking areas. The owners were friendly and helpful. Kitchen was very well equipped with all the needed appliances.
Negative: When we were there, the nearby car/motorcycle racing track was quite noisy from about 9:00 to 16:30, and should have been mentioned by the owners on the site (maybe it was mentioned and I may have missed it). The noise didn't really bother us and we had our afternoon siesta without any problem, but I can see that if I had wanted to lie down outside in the lovely (but small) garden and read a book - it would have bothered me.

Positive: We recently spent 5 nights at Casa de São José as a group of 4 friends and were very pleased with our stay. The host was very kind and responsive, and the house is beautiful and spacious, with a thoughtful layout that separates night and day spaces. Everything we needed was available, including a fully equipped kitchen. We also enjoyed the quiet garden and pool. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. The location was ideal for us to visit the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, with some routes at walking distance from the house itself. We had a rental car, but even without one, an Uber to Sintra centre is a few euros, so the location is quite convenient. Overall, Casa de São José provided a wonderful base for our activities, and we would highly recommend it!
Negative: The common spaces were very well-maintained for the most part, though the kitchen floor and some furniture in the living room could have been cleaner. We experienced an issue with the wifi on our first day, but the host resolved it swiftly by providing a replacement router within an hour or so. The bedrooms were comfortable, though a few of us found the beds a bit on the firm side.
