Positive: This is a fabulous villa, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need on your holiday. The pool and garden are immaculate and tended excellently every day by the gardener first thing in the morning. Maria and her husband are wonderful and attentive hosts who have thought of everything and really want their guests to enjoy their time at the house. They had kindly left us a welcome gift, provided toiletries and also dish washing and cleaning supplies for use during our stay. The beds are all super comfortable with high quality bedding. The location is lovely and rural, but you can still reach Lisbon, Obidos, and the beaches of Peniche, Baleal and Nazaré within an hour, all of which are definitely worth a visit if you are there for long enough and drag yourself away! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely recommend staying at Casa do Cedro no Campo.

Positive: This is a beautiful well-equipped property surrounded by vineyards and has everything you need for a perfect vacation. It is good for guests who want pool-side days and lots of room for family and friends, and my guests enjoyed it 10/10. The barbecue and wood-fired oven were used often. A man tends the property daily around 8am and was very good at his job. Many destinations are less than an hour away by car but groceries are a 15-minute drive to Rio Maior, tho' I hear Continente delivers. There is a Superstore Pingo Doce in Santarem in the other direction. Don't miss the salt marina north of Rio Maior, and frango churrasco at either Solar do Sal or Matias'. Best dress-up restaurant in Rio Maior is either Palhinhas Gold or 100 Gramas e Companhia.
Negative: I had a lot of work to keep 5 guests happy. The hosts fixed everything they could that was wrong (gate, hot water, missing stroller) and were gracious and apologetic. That takes off one star. The other star is lost because of the peacock. He takes his job protecting the hens seriously (and the delicious eggs are appreciated). But his crowing during the night made me wish there was a roasting spit over the barbecue. Not sure he'd welcome a cat or dog. Bring earplugs or lose the peacock.
Summary: Just a gorgeous, well-equipped property in a beautiful setting.

Positive: The place was beautiful and cosy - perfect for a family. Can eat in 2 places outside, which is perfect to chase or get out of the sun. Meals in such a bucolic setting were great. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. There are 2 bunnies and some chicken om the premises, which was cute - and great for kids. The swimming pool is also a massive extra point. Supermarkets arent close at hand, so go once and make sure you get everything you need, so as to not need to go again.
