Positive: I was mostly alone so it was very chill. The host was very nice. Overall a very rustic atmosphere. It was like -15 celsius ourside and inside was super warm. Had parking space. I also enjoyed the smell of cows even though some people complain about that. No smell in the rooms.
Negative: Wasn't very winter proof, but for my kind of travels this is not a big downside. Also not clear where the entrance was or how I can reach the host. Wi-fi wasn't amazing.
Summary: Rustic. This is not for the fancy traveler, but for someone wanting a place to sleep and enjoy a good night's rest i

Positive: We booked super last minute, and the lady who runs the guest house was so kind about this and showed us our room which was lovely, cosy, clean and peaceful. There is a communal kitchen where we cooked something by to eat and had a lovely evening. In the morning we went for a walk around the local area which is stunning and truly magical, there are incredible views of the mountains if you walk up the hill past the church. Great value for money too. Awesome!

Positive: I loved being around all the animals and Marioara is very sweet. Everything was clean and the setting is beautiful.
Negative: Marioara speaks no English and didn’t want to use google translate on my phone, so we had a hard time understanding each other. I arrived at 3 and there was no water coming out of the taps - I eventually understood that it was due to maintenance. I had been walking since 9am so was in need of a shower! Marioara’s husband contacted me on WhatsApp at about 5 saying that I could move to a different house of his nearby where there was water, but I then had to wait until ~8pm before we went there. This place was comfortable, and there was indeed running water. I understand that the water issue was beyond their control but if there had been better communication then Marioara could have taken me to the other place earlier. The couple are very friendly but it was generally not the relaxing stay I had hoped for, but I’m sure my experience was very unusual. Worth noting that the village shop is not adequate for cooking so have everything you need with you if you’re hiking. I read about breakfast in other reviews but I didn’t have any - perhaps because I wasn’t in the main house or because I was the only one staying there.
Summary: Lovely setting and hosts but unfortunate water problem and lack of communication.

Positive: The kindest host ever! We booked a room 5 minutes before we got there. We we're welcomed by Marioara who showed us our room and bathroom. We spoke no Romanian but google translate helped us understand each other. The bed was amazing, pillows filled with geese feathers. Everything seems New and refurbished. In the morning we were greeted by a sweet kitty and her 2 dogs. Breakfast table was filled with homemade produce (eggs, cheese, fresh milk, and vegetables from the garden). FANTASTIC AUTHENTIC ROMANIAN EXPERIENCE! Her hospitality is something that everyone from the turism industry should look up to. 15/10 would reccomend for anyone willing to experience rural Romania. THANK YOU!!!
