Positive: This is a lovely house, with everything needed for a wonderful stay. The inner patio with its tiny pool was a refuge from the heat. I have never stayed in a place with so much attention to decorative details before. It kept an old world charm while having modern facilities.

Negative: We loved being in the tiny village. But guests should be aware that it is some distance from the bigger Center of Mertola.

Positive: We had a lovely week in this beautiful house, the owner has really tried to think of everything to make your stay comfortable. It's very important to have heating at this time of year in Portugal and the log burner made the house very cosy. If you like walking, bird watching and wildlife, this area is fantastic, you've even got the chance of seeing the Iberian linx. Will definitely be returning

Positive: A highly curated, boutique and authentic Alentejan offering in a strategically significant area for market town exploration, pristine road cycling on quiet farm roads and being spellbound by the gorgeous Baixo Alentejo scenery. We felt incredibly cared for by Sandra and her family. What a delight and privilege to be witness to small village life in Southern Portugal…..authentic travel for 2 Canadian cyclists on their 26 th trip to Europe for self planned road cycling multiweek adventures. It is the work, vision, care and spirit of people like Sandra that allow us to live our Euro dreams and make them come true. Cancel your subscription to Architectural Digest and live that life in this outstanding property. Far away from the tourist hordes of Algarve or the “must sees” that internet says you are supposed to visit in Lisboa or Porto lies the true heart and soul of the real Portugal…..Alentejo.
