Positive: As advertised. Lovely stay with sensational views. Breakfast is a feast and our hosts were very helpful. The property is at the top of the hills but easy to navigate and very private.
Summary: Wonderful stay, will definitely come again and recommend.

Positive: Very well maintained property in a quiet place. Beautiful surroundings. Hosts were exceptional. Never met such sweet hosts. They went out of their way and specially brought one Indian flag to be kept on dining table reserved for us. Would definitely like to go back. Highly recommended for people with car.
Summary: Great place to stay between Guimaraes and Braga. You must have a car.

Positive: We arrived and were welcomed with wine and pastries. Our host wanted to make sure we were comfortable and showed us around the property and grounds. You could use the large kitchen if you wanted to cook or store any food items. Each morning we were served a generous breakfast in the eclectic dining room, this included fruits from his garden. He made a beautiful cake on our second morning. Tips were given for visiting the sights and a local restaurant which we loved and we seemed to be the only non Portuguese people in there!
Negative: The style was eclectic and this may not be to everyone's taste however we loved it.

Positive: We were met by the charming and effusive owner Claudino, who showed us around his extensive property full of vines, lemon trees, kiwi fruit, orange trees; also a swimming pool, only just opened for the season (which we didn't make use of). Claudino offered us wine and homemade cake before showing us our room, which was small, but cozy and totally adequate. He also served us an excellent home cooked dinner, accompanied by his home brewed vinho verde tinto and later port; all of which were delicious. Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Claudino suggested we visit the spectacular Parque da Penha on our way to Porto, which we did, and which we would highly recommend too.
Negative: We drove to Casal de S.Romão do Meio from Braga (rather than Guimaraes) and at times felt that our Google Maps was taking us way off the beaten track. It was a relief to finally arrive and be given a warm welcome. Driving from Guimaraes is the recommended route.

Positive: Breakfast. Claudino was very attentive . He helped me to make a reservation to a very good local restaurant by tirelessly dialing up several numbers, as some of them were closed because of the national holiday, a big thanks to him. He also prepared a sumptuous breakfast for us, like orange juice using oranges grown by him. It also rivalled some of the best meals that I have during our stay in Portugal. He is a star.

Positive: The property is absolutely gorgeous. It’s on the top of a mountain with views of the surrounding valleys and towns. The property is an eco retreat full of flowers and flowering trees, orange and lemon trees, vineyards and art of different mediums. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The host, Claudino, is gracious and attentive, and the breakfasts are extensive and delicious.
Negative: There’s nothing not to like. People should keep in mind though that having such a gorgeous view means you’re driving up a mountain. But we’re so glad we stayed here!

Positive: Claudino was the perfect host - and a very good cook. The gardens and outdoor facilities were rustic, calming, welcoming. It was also a treat to sit in a dining room full of 'old' Portugal.
Negative: The location is listed as Guimaraes, but is 25 minutes outside of the city, which caused some confusion. More important, it is very stressful to try to get to the location from the direction of Braga. The navigation tools, both Google and Waze, insist on directing to a dirt road over the top of the hill rather than using the paved roads. Strong Recommendation: APPROACH THE PROPERTY ONLY FROM THE DIRECTION OF GUIMARAES.
