In a large country cottage we have three independent apartments that can accommodate up to 15-16 people in all. The house is located within a wooded park of 15 hectares, in an area full of beautiful paths to be covered on foot or by bicycle, among fields, woods, badlands and small lakes. The La Valle apartment is located on the first floor with access to the front of the house. The entrance is on a large corridor which gives access to all the rooms. Part of the furniture was renewed in 2017. The kitchen is very large and also has a sitting area. The master bedroom is equipped with a magnificent wrought iron bed. The second bedroom can be equipped with two or three beds and is also equipped with a comfortable sofa on which to relax. The bathroom is very large and has a nice walk-in shower. In the garden in front of the house there is a picnic area shared with the I Ciliegi apartment. On the side of the house there is a large barbecue area, with a beautiful view of the Po valley. La Valle is perfect for families with two or three children and couples of friends. The apartment is equipped with an air conditioning system with heat pump. The swimming pool is large (15x7 meters) and positioned in a context of absolute tranquility and privacy. It is also closed by a fence that prevents nighttime access for security reasons. Bed linen and towels are also provided. If necessary we have folding beds, camping beds and a high chair for small children. In the park at the back of the house there is also a small play area for children. The house is the perfect place to make a base for the exploration of a large area of Italy, from Pisa to Venice, passing through Florence, Milan, Verona, Mantua. Bologna is a small jewel. Also worth visiting are all the art cities of Emilia Romagna, castles, medieval villages, fortified palaces, theme parks and water parks.

What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: We (that's my wife and my two children of 7 and 10 years) spent our summer vacation at Casale Dei Conti. We enjoyed the trip mostly, especially the friendliness of the owners, the pool and the landscape surrounding the propery. The owners were always available when we needed them and were eager to help. The landlord's mother served us freshly pressed juice at the pool which was really nice. Since the property only has three apartments the pool was never overcrowded and the general impression was more like being guests of the house than being in a holiday resort. However, we did have some trouble with the aparment iself. I currently forget which unit it was and I do encourage the owner to clarify this and comment on my review and especially on whether the aspects mentioned have been taken care of since the summer. First of all, the plumbing in the bathroom was not what you would call standard today (which is to a certain extent, of course, due to the age of the house). Still, the main drain of the toilet was clogged. Helping hands from the owner and his father did not really do away with the problem and even a professional plumber coming two days later was clueless. So, even in the end of hour trip we had water coming out of the shower drain when we used the toilet or the sink. The second problem was a leaking roof in the kids' bedroom which resulted in wet walls and linen after a stormy night. Again the owner and his father took care of it immediately but still it was quite inconvenient to us. Only advantage: the TV got rained upon and broke so that "unfortunately" our kids could no longer watch TV. We greatfully declined the offer to have the TV replaced. The third problem which was disturbing us all through the whole length of our stay was the non-accessibility of the local WIFI network. There was kind of a misunderstanding as to where the WIFI was available and where not. From the original description I remembered that WIFI was available "near the main house". In my understanding this would also have included out apartment since it had a common wall with the main house. But in fact there was no WIFI reception at all. The problem became even more severe since there was hardly ANY reception of the mobile carriers in the apartment either. As a result we really had a hard time planning our day trips using the internet and we had extra expenses for the roaming required.

Summary: We stayed here for two weeks June/July 2016. We loved it. We'd definitely recommend it and would go again. The apartment's in a rustic property (a former convent, then a farmhouse) that has been in the family since just after WW2. It's in a beautiful, historic (it has a war memorial) hillside location with a perfect, huge view across the plain. The apartment has a good feel to it and is spacious, simply but well appointed, comfortable and practical. There's plenty of storage, a good sized fridge, plenty of crockery and utensils, and everything worked. While there's no aircon, it has high ceilings, large windows and fans - we were there in a heatwave but it was no problem. There's plenty of outside space (teeming with wildlife - deer, hares, birds of prey, hoopoes) and a lovely, secluded pool. Domenico and his family have excellent language skills and really made us feel welcome. So helpful, always smiling and with little touches to show they care. They have excellent local knowledge (they live in nearby Bologna and use the property as their summer holiday home) and are keen to offer information about places to go. They gave us maps of walks around the area, and there was lots of information in the apartment. Needless to say, the area's fantastic and almost overburdened with things to see and do. Bologna's superb. Ravenna and Ferrara are smaller and beautiful. Venice is an easy day trip (by car or rail). Modena and Maranello give you their Ferrari fix. San Marino and the coast are in easy reach. The Po river at sunset is very beautiful. Dozza is a gorgeous village painted by artists. Brisighella is a characterful medieval hillside town. The driving and walking in the hills are glorious, and there's beautifully prepared food all over the place. We wouldn't hesitate to go there again - to the area and to this apartment. We had no disappointments at all, only great experiences and we loved staying at the apartment.

Summary: "The owners are charming and extremely helpful. The surroundings are beautiful. It''s a great place to relax and enjoy the Italian countryside. It''s a shame we were there for work, not for pleasure but we will definitely be back."
