With stunning views over the Caribbean sea, Cassava, Bequia is set within its own grounds less than two hundred paces up from Lower Bay, a short meander down to one of the Grenadine's finest swimming beaches. The house accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms.
The expansive ocean-facing coral stone terrace, which spans the full width of the house is the main living area, the perfect place to relax with a cool drink and watch the sun set. To the left a carved wooden entrance leads into the dining room and to the right, beyond a deep, cushioned seating area, is the master bedroom with its own private terrace, large dressing room and bathroom.
On a lower level two double/twin rooms with en suite shower rooms lead onto their own leafy terraces with sea views. A calm courtyard with frangipani and ginger lilies has a sandstone urn spilling cool water into a lily pond behind the house and steps leading up to a fourth bedroom.
From the centre of the main covered living terrace wide steps lead down to a beautiful local stone lined swimming pool with a shaded bench and sun loungers for you to relax in the sun.
Managed by Kasai Simmons, (with Chef possible by arrangement), Cassava can accommodate up to 8 guests in four en-suite bedrooms. Two are four-poster beds and the other two can be made up as double or twin.
Wifi, speaker for iPhone, IPTV tv with all channels including Amazon, Netflix, Amazon Prime, with safes and air-conditioning in the bedrooms, ceiling fans throughout, larder fridge, freezer, washing machine. Included are the daily services of our housekeeper for a sweep and tidy and for a mid-week change of linen. Additional services of a chef for breakfast and either lunch or dinner can be discussed with rates on request if required. Our house manager is nearby to assist should any queries arise.

Summary: Its always difficult to get proper impression from photos and description, but Villa Cassava truly lived up to expectations. Wonderful space and lovely furnishings which gave it the feel of a real home. The facilities are exactly what you would expect from a 5 star property. The views from the property are spectacular and the evening chorus of tree frogs and crickets, under the stars and clear skies, was enchanting. The helpfulness from everyone involved in the booking, information prior, upon arrival, and during our stay was excellent, and Lucille provides a calm and friendly presence throughout. The addition of a pool would have been a plus for some of our party, but access to the beach is easy and straightforward, with good proximity to bars and restaurants. The only small niggle was the constant battle with the mosquitos...although some guests suffered more than others!...The dining area ceiling fan was out of action, and additional balcony fans might be helpful to combat the insects. Unfortunately we had a temporary loss of water for one morning, due to a leak from the pump, but this was sorted immediately by Lucille and colleagues when we reported the problem. Overall, it was an all too short a stay in a lovely location. We thank the owners for the opportunity to share their beautiful property. The highest praise we can give is that all six of us would love to return.

Summary: The cassava house was great. Property was exceptionally well kept and very luxurious. Communication prior to our arrival was great and made it easy for us to get settled in. We loved the location and proximity to lower bay. We look forward to coming back.

Summary: The Cassava house was a wonderful, relaxing and scenic place to stay. Lucille our host was more than accommodating to make sure everything was perfect during our visit. Thora the house keeper did a fantastic job making our stay comfortable . We would highly recommend renting from Alexandra and staying at Cassava house

Summary: We were lucky enough to enjoy a one week stay at the beautifully appointed Cassava House. The location on this hillside above the island's nicest beach (Lower Bay) is ideal, also offering incredible panoramic ocean views from the gorgeous deck. We will definitely be back ! Note: The house has its own beautifully landscaped (and shaded) stairway down to the beach (160 steps). While fine for our family of four (we appreciated the exercise), my dad struggled a bit as he was recovering from achilles surgery. A couple of times we drove him down/up the hill instead.

Summary: This was our second trip to Villa Cassava, both over Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed it so much last year, we brought my brother and his wife this time. Again, Lower Bay beach was quiet and offered great snorkeling close to the shore as well as on outer reefs. We opted to not rent a car this year, but rely on taxis (Rudi is readily available) and it worked out fine, because we basically were in the water most of the time! Patrick, our chef and house manager prepared 3 wonderful dinners for us and made sure we had everything we needed as before.This is the ultimate chill-out vacation location - no stress and everything you need close by. (We walked into Port Elizabeth for groceries and grabbed a taxi back.) The views of Lower Bay and the boats were gorgeous and ever-changing. The people of Bequia are friendly, helpful and completely laid back. My brother and his wife have already started their Villa Cassava fund for next year!

Summary: This villa is everything the description says and more. Possibly the most relaxing vacation my husband & I have ever taken. This was our first trip to Bequia, and loved the island and its people. This villa is super spacious with wonderful views, privacy and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Conveniently close to Lower Bay Beach (which we had many times to ourselves), and within walking distance to Port Elizabeth (if you are healthy). Part of the walk is along the beach and a stone wall walk by restaurants and shops. We rented a car, but not sure if we would again. Taxis are abundant, however, be ready for an open air truck with canopy. Patrick, the villa's onsite manager and chef, is attentive, helpful, and an amazing chef. He cooked dinner for us 3 nights and they were all delicious. His wife, Miranda does the housecleaning, and she is sweet and the villa is spotless. Waking up to the ocean view in the master was amazing. There are so many seating areas that even if you had six staying you could have plenty of privacy or space to read, etc. All the baths are large and beautiful. Cannot say enough great things - cannot wait to go back and we will definitely rent this villa again. Alexandra (owner) was very prompt in responding throughout the rental process and is an excellent communicator. You will absolutely fall in love with villa and its location!
