If you enjoy being on the beach, our Beach Bungalow is a cleverly designed and thoughtfully appointed place set back 125 feet from the water’s edge. It is a charming, immaculate and well equipped, air conditioned studio situated on a half acre, with your own private beach. Although small and compact, what it lacks in size it makes up for in character. Castaway is the ideal spot for couples who are outdoor oriented and prefer the seclusion that the grounds provide.
While you are more than able to cook and enjoy your meals inside the cottage there is an outdoor grill and large patio table with chairs under a tree shaded grotto. And after your meal you can take a relaxing stroll along the beach or just nap in the hammock under the cover of coconut palms and almond trees.
Our Beach Bungalow is situated in historic Bodden Town, away from the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach but centrally located for exploring the island. Trips to the Mastic Trail, Botanic Park, Crystal Caves, East End, Rum Point and Turtle Farm are easily accessible, but you will find abundant indigenous wildlife right outside your front door! There is a ‘changing station’ for hermit crabs, wild Cayman parrots scouring the sea grape trees for fruit and you may even spy an iguana in the almond tree, on the beach or in a palm tree!
This is the ideal escape to the place you’ve dreamed about for too long. Worry-free, romantic, idyllic, relaxing----a chance to recharge and spend some quality time with your love at this authentic Private Caribbean Getaway!

Summary: Cottage is small but is completely outfitted, in a perfect location. Thom & Susan were wonderful hosts! Plenty of eating out options not far away (or hit Fosters on your way in). Highly recommend Czech In. We came to avoid SMB, soak the sun, snorkel, chill and eat local - all was great! Our only regret booking here - we should have stayed longer!

Summary: Thom and Susan are not just Super Hosts, but also super nice people-and we enjoyed our conversations with them, and appreciated their island recommendations. The bungalow was perfect for the two of us: right on the beach, walking distance to a few local eateries, close to others and easy access to the EastEnd and North Shore where we spent the bulk of our two weeks there. We went to 7 Mile once to pick up a sunset and stingrays cruise. We actually spent most of our time in beach chairs on the property! 🤗😎

Summary: We had a wonderful time. Thom's place was perfect for the two of us. The cottage had everything we needed and then some. And the hammock was a great spot for a nap. We would certainly stay there again.

Summary: Easy access to Public Bus transportation everywhere on island $2CI each. Hosts friendly very knowledgeable & helpful. Beach access within 100 ft, private, lots of sitting and lounge area in shade and sun. Small cottage comfortable and quiet inside. Most awesome was across street bakery with espresso and next door cigar shop and next door beach shop. Easy to find since across from Bodden Town post office. Highly recommend.

Summary: Truly enjoyed our first visit to Cayman and this spot right on the beach was fabulous. Enjoyed walks on the beach, swimming in the crystal clear water and just simply relaxing on the property listening to the sounds of the waves. Location great for activities all across the island. Hosts were very responsive and friendly.

Summary: I found this property quite a few years ago, and then of course travel was restricted, and now finally my husband and I were able to make the trip. Even with all the build-up and anticipation in my mind, the vacation still exceeded expectations! The cottage is on the owner's property (driveway is shared) between their house and their other rental, but it has its own private yard which extends all the way down to the beach. Thom and Susan are great to talk to but also respect your privacy. The yard has beautiful trees, birds and shade, with plenty of seating options which we enjoyed. The beach only ever had a couple people strolling past and had great shallow snorkeling and sunrises. The cottage had everything we needed - air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a full kitchen and bathroom. I would highly recommend a car to enjoy all the island has to offer. Just be careful pulling out of the driveway. My recommendations would be Smith Cove beach for snorkeling (we also visited Cemetary and Spotts which I didn't enjoy as much), nearby restaurants - Czech Inn, South Coast, and Eagle Rays - the Botanic Gardens (gorgeous!) and Starfish Point (so cool). We didn't venture much to Georgetown or Camana Bay, since we favor less busy/touristy spots. That's why we picked this rental! However, dinner at Grand Old House was really special. We spent a lot of time at the cottage as well. We are already talking about coming back every year!

Summary: This was what I’d call the perfect vacation, the rental was extremely clean, accurate to the description on the website. The hosts were so friendly and helpful in steering us in the right direction. When I come back to the Cayman Islands I’ll be Staying here again that’s for sure
