Summary: The Castle Rock Inn was nice; Great for our late night, short stay, on our 12 hr road trip. Perfect for last minute decision which town to stay. The CRI seemed like a terrific choice, w/high reviews, over the long stretch of road and many hotel choices. Great price, clean, quiet, free simple breakfast, and nice staff!! CLEAN is the key description!!

Summary: This was a perfect place to stay after we visited Lincoln's New Salem State Park. The staff was very welcoming. We had an excellent meal in the small pub. We loved the rustic log building and decor. Our room was very comfortable with a fantastic view of the Sangamon River. We would gladly stay here again.

Summary: Didn't like that our heater sounded like a freight train. It was extremely cold that night and the heater barely worked. Upon arrival, we also had trouble getting the door to the room to open. We went back to the desk and the desk person said "some of the doors stick, just give it a good push". That worked, but had to put some force into it. The bathroom door was the same way. We've stayed here several times in route to Colorado. These are the first issues we've had.
