5 Bedroom House in Palacios

The Nest of Palacios is a modern, comfy three story vacation rental home. Just right for a romantic getaway, a business or small family retreat or a special trip to one of the best birding spots in the United States! We keep a house rule of NO large parties and no children under the age of 13 years old. We have four rooms, all with their own bathroom. A beautiful, large living room and dining area. Backside decks that look out over the bay and always have a breeze! There's nothing as relaxing as a weekend at the coast.
AND we can now offer the opportunity for catering or a personal chef! We love Palacios, but there is no getting around the fact that we just don't have many restaurant options. So, if you are here for a longer stay and/or just don't want to bother with cooking, let's talk!
The town of Palacios is a small, quiet coastal community with miles of public waterfront. So, you know there's going to be amazing fishing opportunities! There is a beach area, lots of great piers to walk out on to see the sunset. But that not all that's happening! You can look forward to several annual festivals like the Bird Festival, the Palacios Bayfest Cook Off, the Chinese New Year Festival and Santa even arrives on a shrimping boat! If golf is your game, there's a public 9 hole course. Year around you can visit the City By The Sea Museum or hear great Texas music at The Outrigger Grill. We're also a stones throw from Matagorda Island and some of the best bird watching areas in the country.

Summary: We enjoyed staying at the property, we did miss there being no televisions, and the loft would have been alright to use as a bedroom with a portable screen for privacy. We had to leave the property to fish because there is just not enough water in back of the house. The kitchen is upstairs, but that was o.k. Other than that everything was o.k. and we will stay again.

Summary: Cute little get away. If this wasnt a work trip I would of enjoyed it more. The only downside is that it wasn't really a 5 bedroom but a 4 bedroom with a loft. Other than that the place was cozy and very calming. (also if you are really trying to unplug this is a place you should go to.)

Summary: We had eight people in this home and it was so spacious nobody was walking on top of anyone. The view is absolutely beautiful, we were able to catch blue crab right off the bay in the backyard. Overall this house is a must!

Summary: This house is such a great place to go and relax. Lots of room to stretch out, spacious porches with cooling breeze off the bay, quiet safe neighborhood, and very accommodating owners. We have stayed here three times so fat and are already planning another annual trip next year. Everyone caught fish and had a few "keepers" to take home.

Summary: My family was very relaxed at this house. We worked puzzles, crabbed off the bulkhead, and watched the boats come in. It was a great stay.

Summary: This property has some amazing bedroom suites. No television is a plus in my opinion and wifi had a strong signal. While it is located on a canal, is kayak friendly, and overlooks the bay, I wouldn't recommend swimming in the canal. It is a great place for an adult family fishing or birding trip (no children under 13 allowed per the rental agreement) Has easy access to restaurants and bait. We have been boat/wade fishing in the Palacios area for many years and we all caught keeper redfish and other species during our stay. This was our second stay here and we are planning our stay for next year.
