Summary: The house! Just gorgeous and the staff super attentive! So big on details! From the rooms decor and comfort features to the breakfast and snacks. Made our mini getaway feel like we stayed with family. So close to fishing and swimming and a great selection of food close by. Will return!

Summary: We were looking for a quiet weekend away from Houston. This B&B had everything we wanted and more: beautiful location on Matagorda bay, cozy and tastefully decorated suite, delightful hosts who served a variety of healthy tasty breakfasts throughout the weekend, and great seafood a couple of blocks away! Paula and Theresa have created a “welcome home’ environment that we so appreciated!

Summary: We enjoyed the relaxing stay at the Peaceful Pelican. We stayed in one of the houses towards the back of the property. Theresa was wonderful and made an amazing breakfast. The views at breakfast were serene. We will be going again!!

Summary: This is a lovely B&B with a calm view of the bay. Palacios is far from the hustle so it’s perfect for a retreat and this is the place you’ll want to stay at. Paula, the owner, is personable and makes the place homey and welcoming. The cute cats fascinated my family. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. A great way to kick back. The suite on the first floor is quiet and has a bath tub and shower. The king bed was comfortable. We slept like babies. While the place may need some cosmetic touch ups it stays cosy and inviting. I would recommend for couples or singles looking for quiet or for a small family of 3. Lots of fishing spots all around.

Summary: This is an incredibly unique property. I happened to be there at probably the worst time of the year--not, unfortunately on vacation, but rather for business, but still found the experience very positive. The home itself is lovely and very well kept. However the most important reason to try the Pelican is to meet the owner, who is lovely. She knows the area, has plenty of great suggestions about what there is to do, where to eat, and the breakfast she served was amazing. If you are heading in this direction, or even if you are not planning to, try the Pelican!
