The location, super clean, breakfast very good, I booked the tours with them and they were great and the owners are absolutely lovely, they will help you in everything they can, they help me to book the bus for my next destinations, they even take me to where I needed to wait for the bus and they let me wait in the room after check out until my bus departure 💕. If I ever come back to catba I will stay her for sure.

Positive: It's a nice & quiet homestay (somewhat) away from the busy, loud and crowded main boulevard of Cat Ba. The host is friendly and forthcoming and made sure we had a very pleasant stay. Each day our room got clean bed sheets and towels, which was a welcome surprise. We've been to other homestays in Vietnam but this was the first homestay to do so.
Negative: You can enjoy a basic breakfast at the homestay. It's not free but you will be hard pressed to find a breakfast for that low price anywhere else in Cat Ba. The pancakes are somewhat different than what you might expect.

Positive: Comfy bed. Big shower.
Negative: I didn't like having to go to the 5th floor (no elevator). The a.c. in the room worked really slowly (up to 40 minutes to cool the room) on a not so hot day. Of course you can try to leave it on at a reasonable temperature, but the owner just turns everything off once you leave your room. Finally, the location of the homestay is a bit far from all the restaurants. I'm talking about a 20 minute non flat walk. All in all, I think it's not worth the money. I think it's too expensive considering the location and facilities.

Positive: We loved this beautiful homestay. Rooms are spacious and clean and Truong and his wife we're lovely hosts. Their little coffee shop makes great coffees, teas and meals. The homestay is close to all amenities, if you should need anything, don't hesitate to ask, your hosts will always help and they speak great English!
Negative: There was nothing to not like, we would stay again!

Positive: Super clean, i mean really - this home is immaculate. The plants are beautiful and well kept, and the carp were cool. The gentleman who welcomed us was very kind and helpful. We didn't stay long but he still kept our bags for us for 2 nights and helped us when we needed him. Highly recommend this place.
Negative: There is no lift, but what's a little workout? I don't mind at all, but beware if you are disabled in some way or a dog ate your legs.
Summary: Very clean, very calm, beautiful home, lovely family.
