Situated in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula just 25 miles south of the Lake Superior shoreline and 2 1/2 miles southeast of the city of Gwinn, this quaint 670 square foot cedar log cottage rests on the south shore of beautiful East Bass Lake.
Driving to the cottage you leave the pavement behind and enter a two mile long wilderness area. Upon your arrival, you'll discover the cabin nestled on a six acre wooded lot with a terrific panoramic view of the lake. A firm, gradually sloping sandy lake bottom makes it an ideal place for you and your family to swim and engage in all types of water sports and fishing
The kitchen is fully equipped with table service for six and new appliances including a refrigerator, gas range/oven, dishwasher and microwave. The living room is complimented by a flat screen LCD TV and DVD player. Heat is provided by an eco-friendly bio fuel pellet stove featuring a glass-front door for fire viewing. An air conditioner keeps you cool on hot days. There is an attached utility room with a full size washer and dryer.
The cottage is ideally suited for two to four people (sleeps 4 max). There is one formal bedroom with queen bed, as well as one comfortable sleeper sofa located in a front sitting room. A front dining room affords a panoramic view of the lake. Towels and linens are provided as well as one 14 foot aluminum boat and oars. An electric trolling motor and battery are available for an additional charge.

Summary: The cabin was cozy and the lake was peaceful. We had a wonderful stay. May return for future adventures. The hosts were friendly and introduced themselves when we arrived, letting us know they were close by if we need anything. Then left us to enjoy the peace of their beautiful place.

Summary: Well kept, cozy cabin on a private lake only a few miles from New Swanzy-Gwinn where I grew up! I would love to go back! I left a personal article & Lynn was very kind to get it in the mail immediately. I also appreciated that they both came over & introduced themselves to me! Thank you so much for my wonderful stay!

Summary: Perfect location. We stayed over the 4th of July. While the area was never crowded (the property itself is about 6 acres) it was beyond peaceful once everyone else headed home after the holiday. The owners stopped by to make sure we made it there okay and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed. Should we plan another UP vacation, this is definitely at the top of our list to stay again.

Summary: I would highly recommend this location. It's a beautiful well maintained cottage with incredible sunsets. The lake was warm and inviting. We'll definitely come back. Our hosts were attentive and welcoming. Very nice people.
