This beautiful cabin in the heart of the Finger Lakes is the perfect place to stay while you're on vacation. Just minutes from Penn Yan and Keuka Lake, Cedar Lane Cabin offers a relaxed and laid back vacation spot nestled into the woods and overlooking a valley. The cabin is just around the corner from The Windmill Farm and Craft Market and only a few minutes from many of the wineries in the area.
The front porch is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the sounds of the birds and nature and slow down for a moment, with comfortable log rockers and a porch swing...just the place for your morning cup of coffee. Walking in from the front porch, you'll enter the open main Living area.
The main living area is spacious with a Living room, Dining area and Full Kitchen. There is a large stone fireplace with a gas insert...a cozy place to warm up on a chilly night. The cabin is furnished with handmade log furniture, hewn by a local craftsman. The post and beam construction on the front porch and on the pavilion were all hewn by hand by the homeowner and are made from trees cut down on the property.
The dining area and Living room have comfortable seating for 6, with a table/chairs to dine at, sofa and recliner for relaxing on and a hand hewn high top table for playing a game of cards.
The kitchen is fully furnished and has a stove/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. From the kitchen, you can step down a few steps and there is a sunken 3 season sun-room with large windows facing out over the back yard. You can observe the deer and other wildlife, that come out into the backyard, through the big glass windows in the sun room.
Off of the main living area is a small hallway with the bathroom on the right with a tub/shower.
At the end of the hallway is Bedroom 1 with a Queen size bed and hand made log furniture. To the left is Bedroom 2, which also has a Queen bed and hand made log furniture.
Across from the bathroom are the stairs to the basement level. At the bottom of the stairs, there is a family room to the right. To the left is Bedroom 3. If you go through Bedroom 3, there is a separate utility room with a washer and dryer which are available for guest use.
The backyard at Cedar Lane is spacious with plenty of room for yard games or to let the kids run. The large backyard borders the light-filled wooded area behind the house. There is a large pavilion in the back yard for guests to enjoy with a wood firepit, where you can roast smores and sing campfire songs, during warm summer nights or on cool spring/fall evenings. The perfect spot to end your day!

*Before booking, we would like guests to know: Cedar Lane is an authentic cabin made of real logs. Therefore, noises tend to travel more indoors than a dry-walled home. The cabin also tends to have a "woodsy/cabin" smell, which is natural from the logs. If guests have an aversion to either of these things, this may not be the spot for you.
**We ask that the primary renters be over the age of 25. By booking you agree with this policy and comply with the request that the renter is over the age of 25.

Summary: View from front window was beautifully. Was planning on relaxing in front of the fireplace for two days. Fireplace was not working! Toilet did not work correctly. Had to have the maintenance man in twice. When we arrive at time that allowed us to enter, the heat was set at 50 degrees. It took the house two hours to heat up to 70. It would have been nice if someone from the maintenance group could have gone in two hours before we arrived to turn on heat and check out the fireplace. This cabin was advertised as a year round property to rent. We felt that this was not appropriate! Very disappointed with what we got for the price we paid!

Summary: We so enjoyed our stay, especially given there were no near barking dogs or misbehaving children (we are empty nesters). The property though, needs to have the addition of a TV and DVD movie selections. We brought a portable DVD player with us. This could be easily added to the lower level room. There were a number of items that needed repair, but did not interfere with our stay. The intensity of "house rules" being frequently deluvered via text and email, felt overwhelming and somewhat emphatic vs being a friendly reminder.

Summary: We had a great stay at the cabin. It was quiet and cozy and close to all but yet secluded. The owner has excellent restaurant recommendations in Penn yan, which is a sort 8 min drive away.

Summary: We enjoyed the rustic style of the house, the fire pit, the Amish horse and buggies passing by, the privacy, the cleanliness, and proximity to both Keuka Lake and Seneca Lake wineries, breweries and restaurants. We had a great time. Thank you!

Summary: Tucked away in a wooded lot view views from the front porch you could easily enjoy all 4 seasons. If you’re there on a Sunday morning be sure to bring your coffee outside on the porch to enjoy the clip clop of the horse and buggies headed to church. What a joyful sound! The chipmunks are right at home and busy running around too. Close to everything you need but far enough away so you feel like you’re in your own world.

Summary: We rented the cabin because it was close to the total solar eclipse. The cabin was very clean and very well stocked (the most well stocked VRBO we've ever been to). The house had all the amenities we needed. We cooked most of our meals there and had all the utensils we needed. The fire pit was a great to sit out at night and look at the stars. We really enjoyed not having a TV and were able to sit around and play games and really enjoy each others company.
