Monona is centrally located 35 minutes from Decorah, IA; 10 minutes from Yellow River, and just 20 minutes from the scenic river towns of Marquette & McGregor, IA and Prairie Du Chien, WI.
You’ll have the entire fully furnished home with room for up to 6 guests. The living room is equipped with a 50 inch flat screen TV and a comfortable couch. High speed Wi-Fi included. Full kitchen with a gas range, dishwasher and eat in dining area overlooking the backyard. The master bedroom has refinished hard wood floors and a comfortable queen size bed. The other two bedrooms are adjoining rooms with full size beds, separated by accordion style doors for privacy; this set up is perfect for guests staying with little ones. The full bathroom is newly renovated with modern finishes. All bedrooms and the full bathroom are on the second floor.
Outside there is a brick patio and deck seating area with a gas grill and picnic table, plus a wood fire pit area (wood included). The home is located in a neighborhood at the edge of town with backyard views overlooking fields and a pasture. An occasional train goes by and there is a small farm next door with chickens, a dog, and two horses.

Summary: The house was perfect! The house was very clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and coffee on the front porch was relaxing. The backyard was great too. We were lucky to see a spectacular sunset from the backyard. Highly recommend this house and I would stay here again next time I am in the area.

Summary: We loved our stay! Tim and Bridget have put lots of love into updating this house while keeping much of its original charm, like built-in shelves. My husband, our daughter and I had plenty of space, even with our daughter's dog. We had treats awaiting us: items for s'mores for us and a dog biscuit in the bowl for Bagel. The street is so quiet that it's hard to believe we were in a town. City in the front; country in the back! The location was perfect because we were within 20 minutes of several towns to explore. We spent one day in Elkader browsing the antique shops and also visited Prairie du Chien, McGregor and Marquette. We never cooked while we were there, but the kitchen was fully stocked if we had chosen to eat there. If you have children, the house is well stocked with books and games. Our bed was super comfy. Two thumbs up for the Monona Guesthouse!
