Summary: My wife and I decided to splurge for our 50th wedding anniversary so we invited our sons and daughter and their children to join us in France, 13 total. The Château de Montboulon was an ideal place for us to all stay. It's pastoral and peaceful, but just outside Auxerre which is a lovely city of about 40,000 (give or take) so one doesn't feel like they're in the "boonies". The pool was a major plus for our young grandchildren (as was the hot tub)! Plenty of sleeping space, a game room, great (large enough table for everyone) dining room, and a kitchen we could use to cook for the whole crew. The owners were very responsive and helpful both in the time leading up to our visit and while we were there. There are a few things that I think could be improved on, but that is the same thing that my wife has been saying about me for the past 50 years. None of the things that I think could be improved are in the least bit major and probably most people would rightly say that I just need to chill! All in all, it was an absolutely wonderful place for us to have our family for a week.

Summary: We had a very nice vacation here with 14 girls. The house has everything you can think of to spend a very good time here, including a pool table, a barbecue, a pingpong table, a television with lots of dvd's and a nice swimming pool (only downside is the alarm that keeps going off if you enter the pool). The view from the garden is very peaceful, because the house is located on top of of a hill overlooking the valley, which gives a great surrounding for a walk around the area. There are several supermarkets at driving distance. The home owners are close by and helpful to assist if you have any questions. I would absolutely recommend staying here, because it's and great house to spend a great time.

Summary: This property is well located on the outskirts of Auxerre and within easy reach of the both the town and the famous Chablis vineyards. The chateau itself is spacious and well equipped, and has been renovated to a very high standard. Each of the 5 bedrooms is large and there's plenty of room to spread around inside and out. Catering for a large group is very easy, given the size of the kitchen. We had a very relaxing week, and thoroughly enjoyed staying there. Also worth mentioning that the property owners, though on hand all the time, were welcoming, helpful but unobtrusive.
