Positive: Location was perfect for our visit to Alton Towers and the Churnett valley railway and a ten minute drive into Cheadle for pubs and shops. Nice welcome hamper on arrival with essentials

Positive: A very charming cottage with a very high level of equipment and excellent outside space. It's on the main road but set a long way back so you don't hear it and barely see it. We were even greeted with a generous hamper even though we only stayed two nights. Given it was the hottest day of the year so far, we were very grateful for the fans and portable aircon unit provided. We never met the hosts, but the communication and instructions were excellent. We would definitely return if in the area.
Negative: Only very minor niggles: too many cushions and knick-knacks, no blind on the roof window in the upstairs bedroom, no downstairs loo and the bathrooms hadn't been renovated yet. But everything was otherwise very comfortable and certainly functional.

Positive: Nice property with a lot of character. Great location and good parking. Host really helpful. Very clean and welcoming. Plenty of kitchen utensils, nice bedrooms, comfortable beds. The property is probably bigger than the pictures suggest. Superb arrival hamper.
Negative: The numerous rugs were a serious health and safety trip hazard. They rucked up as soon as we walked on them and we had to pick them up. As others have said the sofas are really hard, with a lot of cushions that get in the way. Bathrooms are carpeted and quite old. Showers are ok but would benefit from more power. We realised on the last morning that the washer dryer was not drying. We woke early in the top floor bedroom because there is no blind on the skylight window and we were lying in bed at 5am with the sun shining into our eyes. Also, there were no opening windows in this room. A fan is provided but it could get very hot in the summer. Overall though the positives far outweigh the negatives and we would happily return to the property.
Summary: Not perfect but a really welcoming property that we would happily recommend

Positive: Pretty much everything. Plenty of comms from the owner before arrivals. House was full of charm and really well equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely arrival touch from the host with a few essentials laid on (milk, bread, butter etc) and a welcome hamper. Beds super comfy and whole property had a really cozy feel. Went with our dog and some great walks right out from the front door.
Negative: Nothing really,but if it was to be anything the sofa was not the most comfortable, but as we were out for most of the day didn’t really matter.
