Summary: Great location, very spacious property. Salt stains, salt and pine tree needles on hardwood main floor and in master bed. First night, downstairs bedroom, At 1:00am startled awake by loud noise in downstairs hall. Had to unplug humidifier, checked reservoir there was no water. Hair & lint on otherwise clean pillow cases downstairs bed. Downstairs shower -water temp not warm enough for comfortable shower. Garbage cans in kitchen & downstairs bathrooms not emptied. Smoke alarm w/no batteries lying on sofa table downstairs. Once these items are addressed will be a great rental!

Summary: We were totally enchanted with this older modernized home. The woodwork throughout the home was beautiful. They just don’t build houses like this anymore. Large spacious rooms. Beautiful sun room. Game room in the basement. Nice kitchen. Comfortable beds. Nice outdoor patio. Near the river walk. We enjoyed our visit very much. Thank You!

Summary: Caleb’s home was a fantastic place to stay for a family wedding weekend in Elgin. The home was comfortable, clean, convenient to everything that downtown Elgin has to offer and made our time in the area that much more wonderful. We’ll certainly look to stay again the next time there’s a gathering in the area.

Summary: Was in town for a family event as a family group of 8….it was perfectly spacious for our entire group! Clean and had everything to make you feel right at home, including a great little game room equipped with a pool table, dartboard and other games. Host was very responsive and helpful everytime I reached out. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay, you check out Caleb’s place!

Summary: My wife and I rented the home with my brother, mother, and two of my children. We had plenty of space and the house was very nice. We were there too short a time to use the kitchen or game room, but we really felt the house was great. The only caveat I would give is if you have a family member who is mobility challenged, this house may not be a good fit. My mother broke her hip two months prior to our rental, and the stairs coming up to the entrance and from the basement made for a challenging experience. No fault of the owner, just an observation for those who may be in similar circumstances. Thanks for having us!

Summary: This house was perfect for our little group to all be together as we celebrated a family wedding in Elgin. A nice cozy spot to relax after navigating the recent snowfall in the area! Beautifully decorated, adhering nicely to the historical lines of this home. The only blip (as another reviewer mentioned) was that the front steps were a little challenging at times.
