2 Bedroom Cottage in Chittlehampton

Prospect Cottage is a two bedroom cottage in the lovely village of Chittlehampton situated a few miles south of Barnstaple in easy reach of the North Devon coast and Exmoor. The cottage is several hundred years old and has been renovated and offers excellent accommodation for up to four people. Situated on the square in the heart of the village, next to the large parish church and local school and 50 paces from the award winning Bell Inn which has a reputation for good food and quality beer. There is a general store closeby.
During the current Covid-19 crisis we have introduced additional practices after each stay to ensure our guests are as safe as possible, including cleaning and disinfecting all high-touch surfaces and cleaning floors, walls, blinds, and other low-touch surfaces with hot water and detergent.
We have also provided our guests with Antibacterial wipes for hand and surface use, Tissues and toilet rolls, Antibacterial cleaners and Hand wash

Summary: Nice cosy cottage, clean and tidy, only gripe was there was no dryer to dry washing. Other than that very good.you need a car as it is quite a way from the town in a rural location.we loved it and the bread cake and milk were very welcome thankyou.

Summary: Lovely decor and furnishings. Great to have the ensuite and a main bathroom with a bath. Plenty of space in the main bedroom. Walking out of the front door and seeing the magnificent Church was amazing.

Summary: Lovely cottage in a nice village with a great pub that serves really good beers and the food is highly recommended. we were looking for a peaceful break with some good walks, you will need a car if you wish to get around but the cottage and the location ticked all the boxes for us.

Summary: The property fulfilled all our needs. It was comfy and quiet. Unfortunately on the last night our car, with French registration, was scraped all along the side. Clearly, parking in a public square makes one more vulnerable to such incidents. In every other way the cottage was beautifully positioned close to the church, and not far from the pub and village shop. Although we had cold, grey weather, we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Summary: The property was ideally located close to local amenities. However you will need a car to get around if you would like to explore further out. The property has everything you would need for a short or longer stay. It is clean and tidy. We had breakfast one morning in the little shops tearoom. An evening meal and drink in the local pub. We would definitely stay here again if it was available at our chosen time. I had a question for the owners before we arrived and they replied quickly.
