Summary: I booked this fun rental for the last night of my solo trip to Maine for a few days. Of the 3 rentals I had during my time - this one was my favorite. It was so charming, had everything you needed and was so clean. The hosting service communicated fairly regularly to check in and ensure all was well. Bed was super comfy and the loft was a fun experience. Great location to nearby attractions. Very thoughtful rental, thanks again - hopefully I’ll be back someday.

Summary: This cottage was a great spot for my family of 4 to explore the Kennebunk area. The bed and sofa bed were very comfortable and the cottage was spotless! There is even a nice backyard to enjoy. Would highly recommend!

Summary: The cottage is close to the beach and it is really great that a beach pass is provided. The outside lawn is nice and pleasant for breakfast or drinks The place is generally tiny, and has no storage for clothes or other luggage, aside from 3 drawers under the TV, and 2 other tiny drawers next to the door. So do not plan to travel there with more than a few items of clothing. There is no place to really store a suitcase or a bag, unless you move some of the furniture. If you want to use the pull out couch, you will also need to move several items of furniture around to be able to open it (and then you’ll end up blocking either your way to the kitchen, or to the bathroom). The upstairs loft is incredibly uncomfortable for several reasons: The loft only fits a mattress and a small lamp next to it. The ceiling is very low, so if you are taller than 5’5’’, you won’t be able to even kneel there without hitting your head on the ceiling. If you sit on the mattress, you are guaranteed to hit your head with most movements. The first evening, as I sat on the bed and bounced up by ~1 inch, which was enough to result in a strong and painful head bump. I hit my head several more times during our stay there, because really most normal human movements in the loft mean your head comes in contact with the ceiling. Once you are fully in bed, turning around can also be painful, because the ceiling is even lower along the sides of the loft, so you may end up hitting your arms or knees (or both) while turning. The loft can feel quite claustrophobic too. I am not someone who has claustrophobia in general, but I definitely had moments of panic during my first night there, because it felt so tight and confined. So if you do have claustrophobia or are nervous about smaller spaces, this might not be the right place for you. Going from the loft to the restroom is an interesting project. It requires crawling out of the mattress (since sitting up is not really an option) and then turning yourself around while lying on your stomach, so you can rotate your way towards the staircase, all the while being very careful about not hitting your head in the process.
