This charming Lakeside Chautauqua cottage has it all! The cottage is updated to include all of today’s needed travel amenities while maintaining the cottage’s charm. It is located on a quiet street within the gated community. Begin and end your day with the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets just a short walk from your front porch.
This adorable one-story cottage has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, and it can accommodate 11 guests. The cottage is welcoming and allows for a family to be together and yet enjoy the peaceful solitude of Lakeside. The street in front is flat and great for playing catch or riding scooters and bikes so children can stay close by. Enjoy the playground and open space just across the street from Cherry Park!

Lakeside Chautauqua is a gated community during its summer season and provides amazing daily programming to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of visitors of every age. Lakeside Chautauqua is a step back in time to a place where values, traditions, and family remain the focus.
During the summer season, the community includes seminars, downtown shopping, restaurants, movie theatre, parks, beach area, splash water pad for kids, swimming pool, sailing, paddleboards, playgrounds, basketball, tennis (clay and hardcourt), mini-golf, shuffleboard, art classes, worship services, picnics, a variety of exhibits and art shows, ice cream, coffee shop and nightly entertainment. There truly is something for all ages. Bicycles, golf carts, and walking (especially a stroll down Ohio’s Most Beautiful Mile along the Lakefront) are the main modes of transportation at Lakeside.
PLEASE NOTE: When staying in Lakeside during its summer season, generally Memorial Day through Labor Day, all guests ages 12 and up will be required to purchase daily or weekly passes. Details are available here: http://www.lakesideohio.com/passes.
Rentals are for a one-week minimum during the official Lakeside Chautauqua season from mid-June through Labor Day. Partial weeks or long weekends are available in the off-season (before Memorial Day and after Labor Day).

Summary: Everything worked well - checkin; checkout; very clean, Kitchen had just about every tool available. It’s a busy corner lot, better suited to families with young children. I could see decor and other household things being updated. Certainly hope the mattress in the master bedroom is next on the list. It’s not the worst mattress I’ve slept on at Lakeside but it’s on its way. The gas grill needs work. Starter needs to be replaced. Sorry for the complaints. It is a nice cottage and I loved not having to fuss with door keys. You are obviously updating as you go along. (That mattress has got to go soon.) Thanks for a lovely time at Lakeside.

Summary: Those in our group this year were 2 grandparents, one daughter, two grandsons ages 2 and 1. The house is lovely and a great location. A one-floor plan with spacious living room, kitchen and bedrooms - all very good! What was not so good was the cleanliness we were met with. The kitchen floor needed scrubbed upon arrival, and the carpet in living and dining rooms was quite terrible - very spotted, stained, and overall had the children's little feet and hands very dirty within a short time. I realize the owners are likely not the ones who clean the house, but whoever does it for vrbo needs reprimanded. It was hard to relax and fully enjoy staying there with all the spots and large splatter marks throughout the carpeted areas. Plus even after we personally scrubbed the kitchen upon arrival, it truthfully still need a firmer mop and stronger detergent. It never did come fully clean. If the cleanliness issues were remedied, it is a delightful place to stay - great quiet location and a nice layout inside. The owners (who we had to contact for an internet problem) were very sweet and extremely responsive - I'm sure they are very good people.

Summary: I've been coming to Lakeside my entire life and this is one great property!... Very clean(xtra thx to your cleaner)!... Very spacious!.... Perfect for our family....Well loved, well-stocked & well cared for by the property owners...Lovely corner...Terrific location...Nothing like coffee & a book or visiting w/extended family on the screened-in porch yet quiet inside!...Plan to be back again next year...thank you so, so much for sharing your cottage 🙂

Summary: We rented cotages 25 years ago when our children were little. Now they are grown and we have 2 grandchildren. We figured what better place to take a family vacation than Lakeside. We rented this cottage for a week. The cottage was very nice and clean. Bathrooms were very nice. We like to cook and found the kitchen spacious and well equipped. Location was perfect and quiet. We hope to rent same place again. Owners communicated and responded quickly. I highly recommend!
